Mumbai, March 13th - The Model Indian Parliament System, enacted by the students of SNDT College in collaboration with the Mumbai Bahá'í Community, showcased a remarkable display of knowledge, skills, and content. The event, expertly coordinated by Mrs. Chitra Lele, Professor at SNDT College, and faculty members, was graced by distinguished judges Mrs. Vinaya Deshpande, Bureau Chief of CNN, and Nargis Gaur, Secretary of the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Mumbai.
One of the highlights of the event was the insightful presentation by the Bahá'í speaker, emphasizing qualities essential for an ideal Parliamentary system from the Bahá'í viewpoint. The speaker underscored the importance of unity, justice, consultation, and cooperation as pillars for a harmonious and effective governance structure.
It was heartening to witness the students, including vernacular speakers, fluently express themselves in English, a testament to their dedication and the support provided by the Bahá'í Community of Mumbai. Special recognition was given to Mrs. Shahnaz Puthran, the English teacher, whose guidance and encouragement played a pivotal role in enhancing the students' confidence and eloquence.
The program received unwavering support from the Principal, who graciously allowed students to participate even during exam time, showcasing a commitment to holistic education and extracurricular engagement.
