Kanakia International School organizes Global Musical Fusion interschool competition

 


Mumbai, 30th November, 2022: Kanakia International School, Chembur, organized a Global Musical Fusion Interschool solo singing competition in which over 50 students from more than 15 educational institutions competed with zeal and won on Saturday.

The audience experienced some breathtaking performances by students who showcased their talent in English Pop, Indian Classical, and Bollywood songs at this musical event. The young children's performance captivated the audience, and they all thoroughly enjoyed the event.

The event saw presence of eminent personalities from the music and film industry like Mehroo Cama (Singer & Lyricist), Pranaay Pradhaan (Composer, Music Produce & Live Performer), Poonam Datar (Hindustani Classical Singer), Daniel Quadros (Singer & Songwriter), and Aparna Biwalkar (Award-winning Singer, Music Composer, & Music Professor) who were on the panel to judge the event. In addition to assigning grades to each performance, the judges praised each performer for their efforts and talent.

Mr. Nitesh Tiwari (Writer, Lyricist, and Film Director - Dangal & Chhichhore fame) blessed the event as a Chief Guest and praised the students' performances, emphasising that they are the industry's future in the coming years.

The students who won the prizes were Arianna Rebello, Sasha Raghani, Megan Mathew, Dia Iyer, Anaya Dharnidharka, Angad Kapoor, Myrah Thakkar, Aditi Anurag, Shaurya Singh, Akshat Sharma, Thanishka Krishnan, Advika Nair, and Niharika Kshatriya, Gayatri Sathyanarayanan, Matilda Daniel Nadar, and Hiranyada Mehta.

F77 with Bosch ABS: Prioritizing Road Safety through customization

The electric two-wheelers require significant attention to the subject of recuperation, meaning the recovery of energy. This happens when an electric vehicle brakes or slows down closing the throttle. The Bosch ABS caters to this specific need amplifying the performance of the motorcycle with respect to safety.


Bosch motorcycle ABS 10 base, adopted to the F77, is the dual channel ABS for two-wheelers with hydraulic brakes both at the front and rear wheels. The technology also brings the rear-wheel lift-up mitigation function to the vehicle, contributing to keep the rear wheel on the ground when a rider brakes sharply, reducing the risk of rollover.

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and National Productivity Council, autonomous organisation under DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India is organising the 'ESG conference for Industry Transformation ESG for Atmanirbhar Bharat' on 29 November 2022 to facilitate the corporate sector and the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEsachieve higher goals in ESG framework and to promote wider adoption of ESG measures by the industryNational Productivity Council (NPCorganised a curtain raiser press conference ahead of the conference in Mumbai today.

Addressing media persons about the upcoming conference, Director General of NPC Shri Sundeep Kumar Nayak (IASsaid that the ESG conference in Mumbai is the third one in the series; the first two conferences were held in New Delhi and Chennai. “During the COP26 held in Glasgow in 2021, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had announced Indias commitment towards curbing green-house gas emissions and transitioning to clean energy sourceIn COP27, India has outlined its roadmapIndias ensuing Presidency of G20 the country is expected to showcase her progress and achievements across a range of sectors including industry, environment, infrastructure and so on

The Director General of NPC said that SEBI has mandated the top 1,000 listed companies in India to furnish Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSRas a part of their annual reports. “We feel that implementation of BRSR mandate by SEBI will not only enhance sustainability of industries improving their overall performance and compliance of various environmental regulations and conditions, but also would supplement in improving their profitability”.

Speaking about the Nation Productivity Council, The Director General of NPC said The NPC has been working in the field of environment, energy and waste management since the mid-nineties”.

    Written by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah with Madhur Bhandarkar, the ZEE5 Original Film is the first Hindi feature film on covid pandemic and its repercussions on the people of India. Shot in 2021, the film narrates four parallel stories of disparate characters who are catapulted into an unforeseen dramatic situation instigated by the lockdown due to the corona pandemic. Raj Babbar who is the father of actor Prateik Babbar got emotional after watching his son on the big screen. Even Prateik Babbar was overwhelmed with the love coming his way from his father and other family members.

    Former member of Rajya Sabha, Raj Babbar said, India Lockdown is not just a film but an emotion and a phase that we have all gone through. Madhur Bhandarkar has done a fabulous job in making this film of different people in life and their stories on how they have spent their lockdown. Whether it’s the migrant worker or a sex worker, lockdown was a difficult time for everyone, and the stories of lockdown have been portrayed beautifully.     There may be different religions and sects in the world but the Jagadguru or saint of that religion and sect always teaches everyone the principle of the same. They keep saying love each other and help each other. So that different saint poets can be organized on a single platform. Here is everything to know about the Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar Sammelan to be held on 9th and 10th December 2022 in Agartala, Tripura.


    It is an attempt to recognise, celebrate and micro-communicate the eternal, indigenous and folk tales of seven north-eastern states of India and Sikkim in the form of written literature. Gatherings are organized to express themselves through oral tradition or even through music, dance or theatrical forms.


    Just as Maharashtra benefited from Saint Dnyaneshwar, similarly North Purvanchal can be called the talent of Dhani Shankardev. The Bhakti movement gained momentum in the then Kamrup region with Srimanta Madhavdev under his patronage. Narendra Modi conferred the title of Ashtalakshmi to the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura. This included both the number of kingdoms and the tradition of worshiping the goddess.


    Ashtalakshmi Sant Vichar Sammelan is the first of its kind in the North East region of India. Its concept and objective is not only to explore the rich cultural and religious traditions of the region but also to strengthen communication and exchange with the rest of the country, thus creating a strong and unified national identity.


    In the 75th year of Indian Independence, this program will be a humble tribute to the anniversaries of Independence. To enhance our own personal understanding of the Northeast region of India, its differences with the rest of the country.Lectures and seminars are organized on various topics to celebrate and share with each other the great thread of imagination of Indian culture that has defined this land for centuries. Also, the purpose of this meeting is to inform people from other parts of India that there are many temples and places of worship in the North Eastern states.

    Kalki Fashion wins infringement lawsuit against Kalki Trendz of Surat


    Mumbai, November 25, 2022: Kalki Fashion, a prominent luxury ethnic wear brand moves Bombay High Court over trademark infringement, against Kalki Trendz, a Surat-based company. Kalki Fashion was founded 15 years ago and has become a household name in the fashion and entertainment world. Kalki Fashion recently discovered that Kalki Trendz, was not only copying the famous Kalki Fashion brand name but also selling and marketing under the same name.  

    Delhi based advocate Namrata Pahwa is the advisor and legal counsel representing Kalki Fashion and was able to get an ex-parte ad interim injunction order by Justice Chagla. Kalki Trendz has agreed to retract all its trademark registrations from the IP Registry and is also going to completely re-do its branding so as to avoid any infringement.

    IIMA and Aura Art Collaborate to Launch an Art Index to promote Indian Art and Artists globally


    ~The Art Index will support, art enthusiasts, financiers, insurers, and others to estimate the market price of artworks based on data instead of a ' gut feeling'

    November 24, 2022: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), a premier global management institute, today announced the launch of the IIMA-AuraArt Indian Art Index (IAIAI) in collaboration with Mumbai-based Aura Art Development Pvt Ltd (Aura Art), an art infrastructure solutions provider and specialist in art transactions. 

    The IAIAI comes as timely intervention for the Indian art market which despite being at a nascent stage is emerging a burgeoning market. This index is a first of its kind that trace the price appreciation journey of Indian artists at auction globally. The need is pressing as the nation has had limited experience with art indices and most purchases are still driven by a ‘gut feeling’.  

    In such a scenario, the IAIAI, which is based on a hedonic pricing model, will serve as a Constant-Quality Art Price Index. The index has been put together using a data-driven methodology that analyses price variations in artwork auctions of top 25 Indian artists across the globe over 20-years. IAIAI therefore can offer, art enthusiasts, financiers, insurers, and other stakeholders across the sector, data to calculate the percentage change in the likely market price of an artwork over time. 

    Speaking of the potential benefits of the Index, Professor Errol D’Souza, Director, IIMA, said: “Art and artists are not only to be appreciated but they also have a significant investment value. Recently, the total worth of art works auctioned in India has been nearly a hundred million dollars per year. At IIMA we are also focussed on the emerging importance and needs of the art investing community and the assets it invests in. This art price index will bring a higher degree of transparency to the realm of art investment. We believe that it will also encourage investment in art and, thus, the artists.”

    Unlike financial assets which are homogenous in nature, real assets such as artwork are highly heterogenous, which is one of the primary challenges in creating a reliable index. Moreover, markets for such real assets are illiquid and thinly-traded. Artwork prices are a combination of factors related to artists, media, subject, size, etc. Thus, comparing prices across artwork varying in multiple factors is fraught with cognitive errors. An intuitive workaround is to summarize art price transactions observed in a period into a central tendency measure such as average, or median. However, indices based on central tendencies may be misleading indicators of price movements. Consider an investor who bought a Jamini Roy oil rendering of tribal culture in 2010, and today wants to assess the percent change in its price since then. But recent auctions have been dominated by relatively abstract works of Souza and Hussain. So, the average change in price is not just due to passage of time; but also due to changing quality of the artwork auctioned. This renders the index irrelevant to Roy’s work. IAIAI addresses this issue such that it is generalizable to a larger asset class despite the sample changing its quality over time.

    Through its collaboration with Aura Art, IIMA analysed data provided by the former, which comprised auction results of over 9,000 artworks by the top 25 Indian artists (List of artists analysed available below), auctioned across 11 houses around the world, over a more than 20-year period, from April 1, 2001 to June 30, 2022. These artists were selected based on the number of artworks auctioned. These artists offered a critical mass of artworks 



    adequate to be included in the index formation. The first batch of data included a total auction price worth INR 45 bi (approx. $0.75 bi @ ₹60/US$) for the whole sample period. 

                                                                             

    Professor Prashant Das, IIMA faculty who ideated the programme algorithm for development of the index, said, “As an asset class, art has a great similarity with real estate: Each asset is unique, and the market is stratified. Even if produced in multiple copies, the products are not identical. Clubbing such assets into a unified price index is an analytical challenge that we attempt to address through this index. The index is broadly relevant irrespective of which quality of art works dominated the sample over time.”


    Speaking at the launch, Mr Rishiraj Sethi, Director, Aura Art Development Pvt Ltd, said, “The Art Index is a great example of a head-heart confluence, which normally results in the best of both.  Our collaboration reflects a confluence of IIMA’s analytical prowess and Aura Art's grasp on esoteric factors that drive art value. We aim at measuring heartbeats of the Indian Art market.”

    As in 2022, the two parties (IIMA and Aura Art) have agreed to publish quarterly price indices updated twice a year. The index will be hosted as a part of IIMA’s Misra Centre for Financial Markets and Economy: 

    The Misra Centre for Financial Markets and Economy at IIMA is a Centre of Excellence that conducts research on the financial markets and economy in India. The Centre is expected to provide impetus for focussed research and teaching related to financial markets within the overall framework.
