Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad trailer is power packed and the actress as Agent Agni sets the screen on fire!


Soham Rockstar Entertainment’s action thriller, Dhaakad, is all set to create new benchmarks in cinema. The film headlined by Kangana Ranaut is a never-seen-before action extravaganza that’s headlined by a top female star. 


The makers planned an event that mirrored the scale of the movie. The event saw Kangana’s entry in a chopper at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse Grounds after which the actress drove straight to PVR Icon, Phoenix Mall in Lower Parel. If the film’s teaser broke the internet, the trailer only ups the ante and the audience can expect a homegrown action flick that matches the standards set by international movies. While Kangana’s performance anchors the film, its strong ensemble, comprising Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta, Saswata Chatterjee among others, makes the film soar to greater heights. 


Kangana Ranaut said, “It has been a long-standing dream of mine to take up challenging parts and be part of movies that change the norm. Dhaakad is one such film. I enjoyed playing Agent Agni who stops at nothing. Dhaakad is a genre defining film and we’ve worked very hard to create something that lived up to the dream that we had envisioned. Agent Agni is a force of nature and embodies the strength within us and the film is a celebration of grit and power.”


Director Razneesh Ghai said, “Dhaakad being my first film will always be close to my heart. Kangana is the new brooding action hero. Her understanding of a screenplay is simply outstanding. His character, vibrates with an infectious energy that only an actor of his calibre could have brought to the table. He has also pushed the bar with his looks and style for Dhaakad which will catch everyone's attention. Divya’s commanding performance is remarkable. She gets into the skin of the character and has nailed every detail of it - the accent, the lingo, the body language to really transform herself. She is an absolute blast in this movie.”

Union Bank of India goes live on Account Aggregator Ecosystem


Mumbai – April 29, 2022: Union Bank of India becomes the first public sector Bank to go live on the Account Aggregator Ecosystem for participating in Govt. of India’s Digital Initiatives.

The Account Aggregator Ecosystem helps the Lenders to leverage on Digital data acquired with the consent from the Customers for providing them a seamless journey and eliminating the need of physical documentation. Financial Information User (FIU) can request for data from the Financial Information User (FIP) based on a simple consent given by the Customer on their Account Aggregator handle.

Union Bank of India endeavors to work both as FIP and as FIU enabling its Customers to share Data digitally on real time basis. Union Bank has implemented the technology stack as per the Reserve Bank Information Technology (ReBIT) guidelines.

The Account Aggregator (AA) Ecosystem which went live in September 2021 has seen active participation from Banks/NBFCs in the country. 

FC Goa fans excited to see the return of Carlos Pena

 ~ The Spaniard returns as head coach after spending two trophy-laden seasons at the club ~

FC Goa's appointment of former club icon Carlos Pena as the head coach heading into the new season seems to have been a shot in the arm for the morale of their fans following a disappointing ISL campaign which saw the Gaurs miss out on the playoffs only for the second time in eight years.

Pena takes over the reins at FC Goa just two years after bringing down the curtain on his playing career after spending his last two seasons as a Gaur - both of which brought him silverware at the Club. 

In Pena, the FC Goa fans found a leader on and off the pitch - his presence in the backline bringing a sense of calm to the proceedings. And fans are looking forward to ushering back the good times with his return to their Club. 

“It’s always an exciting story to hear a former player taking charge of the club and taking it to glory, and here with Peña at the club it’s not different. I have heard about his fiery motivational talks in the dressing room and with the players, how he breathes life into dead wood,” remarked Ashlesh Ajgaonkar. 

“As a player he always gave everything and I am sure as coach, the kind of personality he has, he will put his all in.”

Season ticket holder Sameer Shirodkar also is also looking forward to seeing Carlos Peña back in FC Goa colours and believes his leadership will be very crucial to the Club’s upcoming season. 

“I'm really looking forward to having Peña back at FC Goa, because we all know his presence in the dressing room is going to be very impactful,” opined Shirodkar.


Gautham, an FC Goa fan from Trivandrum also feels that the positive winds will be back in FC Goa’s sails in the coming season with the return of the Spaniard to Goan shores.

“I remember the days Carlos Peña hung up his boots. After all he had been a major part of the most successful phase at the club,” stated Gautham.

“The team has not done quite so well since then and it shows how big a void he left behind. Now that he is back, even though in a different role, I strongly feel he will make as much of an impact as he did during his playing days.”

Peña might not bring a ton of experience as head coach, however, he will have the advantage of falling back on his experience of playing in India and knowledge of the philosophy of football that guides FC Goa. 

Anthony Fernandes, another FC Goa diehard from Candolim feels that his familiarity with the challenge that lies ahead for him will serve him in good stead. 

“Having been with the team before he has the knowledge of the players and that of how FC Goa wants to play. So I am being positive and looking forward to a great season,” stated Fernandes.

“He may not have much experience being a coach of a senior team but he can counter that with his knowledge of the ISL.”

And whilst time will answer a number of questions, Pena’s arrival has certainly brought forth a real sense of anticipation amongst the FC Goa faithful. With the fans having endured two seasons of FC Goa with action taking place inside a bio-bubble and a disappointing 2021/22 campaign, this is certainly looking like a positive start.

Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Ltd. KPCL announces results for FY 2022 with sales at Rs 1,021 crores a 24% growth over previous year. PBT at Rs 114 cr up by 36% over last year.

 

Board recommends final Dividend of 120%

Pune, India – April 28, 2022: Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Ltd (KPCL) (BSE : 505283), a major player in  Air, Refrigeration & Gas Compression business in India, announced today its financial results for the  financial year ended 31st March 2022. 

The company achieved several milestones during the financial year: Crossed Rs 1,000 crores in sales;  Crossed Rs 100 crores in PBT; Manufactured over 3,100 compressors during the year; and Crossed Rs  100 crores in Export order booking. The second half of the fiscal saw the emergence of new challenges  in cost of various inputs, disruption in supplies and major uncertainty in supplies from Europe and China.  Yet in all this, the company was well positioned to handle the situation based on strong order inflow and  an integrated supply chain. 

While orders with longer execution cycle are discouraged, the order board as on 31st March 22 was over  Rs. 1,250 crores compared to Rs. 925 crores at the beginning of the previous year. The strong and active enquiry pipeline would further allow the Company to get orders at viable prices and with shorter  execution cycles. 

The R&D initiatives had a strong thrust. This will enable the Company to bring to the market two new  products in Q1: The Khione refrigeration screws for the Pharma, food and Dairy industry and the Hydro Booster compressor for the CNG stations that are off the gas pipeline grid. 

Compression business continues to be over 95% of the Company’s revenue and remains as only  reporting segment. All other activities have been grouped under other non-reportable segments.  

Review of FY 2021-22 Financial Performance: 

Operating revenue is at INR 1,021 Cr vs INR 823 Cr for FY 21 registering 24% increase Y-o-Y ∙ EBIT margin improved to 11.2% compared to 10.3 in PY 

PBT improved to 11 % at INR 114.1 Cr in FY 22 compared to 10.1% at INR 83.8 cr FY 21 

Profit After Tax improved to 8.2% and stood at INR 84.9 cr in FY 22 compared to INR 63.8 cr  (7.7% ) in FY 21 

Basic EPS improved to Rs. 13.19 compared to Rs. 9.94 of the previous year. 

Order book stood at INR 1,250 Cr as on 1st April 22 compared to INR 925 Cr on 1st April 21  representing a growth of about 20% Y-o-Y  

Board has recommended a dividend of 120% taking the total Dividend for the year to 200%

Abu Dhabi, 28 April 2022: H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, inaugurated Louvre Abu Dhabi’s second international exhibition of the year, Stories of Paper. The all-new exhibition will open to the public on April 20 and will run until July 24, 2022. Organised by Louvre Abu Dhabi in partnership with Musée du Louvre and France Muséums, the exhibition discovers the extensive variety of artistic expressions of paper, with the purpose of encouraging richer knowledge of a familiar, and increasingly versatile material.


Stories of Paper is curated by the Musée du Louvre’s Xavier Salmon, General Curator and Director of the Department of Drawings and Prints, and Victor Hundsbuckler, Curator at the Department of Drawings and Prints, with the support of Dr. Souraya Noujaim, Director of Scientific, Curatorial and Collections Management at Louvre Abu Dhabi. The curators were assisted by Amna Rashed Al Zaabi, Senior Curatorial Assistant, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Charlotte Maury, Art Collection Officer, Department of Islamic Art, Musée du Louvre and Cristina Cramerotti, Musée National des Arts Asiatiques – Guimet.


About 100 artworks and objects from 16 museums, cultural institutions and private collections will be on display. These include books, manuscripts, drawings, a reproduction of a house and 13 contemporary artworks and installations made of paper. The exhibition will take visitors on a journey through time to discover the various ways in which paper was utilised across cultures. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a diverse public programme of wide-ranging cultural activities.


Manuel Rabaté, Director of Louvre Abu Dhabi, said: “With the emergence of digital transformation and the dematerialization of our haptic experiences, it makes sense for Louvre Abu Dhabi, a universal museum, to celebrate paper as a common yet precious good. From books, manuscripts and drawings to contemporary art works or installations made of paper, Stories of Paper retraces a chronological history of this single universal medium, considering the usage and key characteristics of paper such as transparency and robustness to provide an original perspective on the use of paper throughout time and across the different regions. We are also very pleased to invite prominent Emirati artists to be to be part of this shared dialogue—with works on display by Hassan Sharif, Abdullah Al Saadi and Mohammed Kazem, all of whom are considered pioneers of Emirati conceptual art. A special thanks goes to Musée du Louvre, France-Muséums and all the international lending institutions and private collections who have helped in bringing this exhibition to fruition.”


Laurence des Cars, Director of Musée du Louvre, said: “Stories of Paper exhibition includes a rich selection of loans from Musée du Louvre, Musée Guimet, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Centre Pompidou, Bibliothèque Nationale et Universitaire de Strasbourg, Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève, Sharjah Art Foundation, Zayed National Museum, and Goesan Museum, as well as works from the permanent collection of Louvre Abu Dhabi. It fuses contemporary works from Arab and European art scenes, such as Labyrinth by the great Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto—a piece which confirms papers perpetual importance to mankind. This is precisely where the essence of Louvre Abu Dhabi lies—in its ability to bring together diverse collections that would probably not have had the opportunity to interact anywhere else but in Louvre Abu Dhabi.”


Stories of Paper spans 12 themed sections, all of which highlight the key qualities and varied use of paper across centuries with immersive scenography. The themed sections include Plant Origins, An Affordable, Widely Used and Multipurpose Material, Movement, Colour, Transparency and Translucency, A Versatile Material, a Substitute Material, A Support for Reproducing Works, Fragility and Resistance, A Space, A Possibility of Collecting, A Space of Annotating, of Associating Comments and Images, a Trace and a Malleable Support. The exhibition will allow the visitors to understand the tools and mechanisms used to create paper, and invite them to explore the different textures of paper through the mediation devices.


Curators Xavier Salmon and Victor Hundsbuckler said: “Stories of Paper is exhibited in parallel to the UAE’s great appetite for contemporary creation and innovative technologies, with the ambition to create curiosity for this familiar material at a time when digital technology is permeating all aspects of our daily lives. The exhibition aims to establish this definition using 12 criterions and taking a historical look at paper on a global scale. Beyond drawings, this exhibition explores the whole range of artistic expressions of paper with the aim of encouraging wonder and fostering the visitor’s understanding of an ordinary yet extremely versatile medium.”


Dr. Souraya Noujaim, Scientific, Curatorial and Collections Management Director at Louvre Abu Dhabi, said: “Paper has, without a doubt, served a purpose in every aspect of society throughout history. There is already nostalgia for the material and its many familiar uses in our daily lives. However, time is not up for paper. It is still strongly rooted in our practices and its charm has not faded. This is evident in the artworks on display at Stories of Paper. We are very proud that, for the first time, we are able to showcase pieces from renowned Emirati contemporary artists, such as Hassan Sharif, Abdullah Al Saadi and Muhammad Kazem, which explore key attributes of paper as a medium, celebrating this simple yet unique medium and its perpetual importance in today’s society.”


Cultural and Educational Programme


A rich cultural and educational programme will accompany Stories of Paper, offering an array of events. An online talk and a recorded podcast by the exhibition’s curators will be available on Louvre Abu Dhabi’s website and mobile application, for the public to explore the exhibition.


In collaboration with Cinema Akil, Berklee Abu Dhabi, Goethe institute, Irtijal, and Metropolis Art Cinema, Louvre Abu Dhabi will present a cine-concert on May 4, fusing two worlds by presenting contemporary electronic experimental music from the Arab world, in synchronised harmony and improvisation against the silent film classic, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, directed by Lotte Reiniger. Film screening will provide enjoyable, accessible, and diverse viewing experiences, with stories from cultures around the world. A series of films featuring paper as a medium will be screened on May 5: Kubo and the Two Strings, featuring a 12-year-old Japanese boy earning his living by magically manipulating origami with music (the film will be followed by a sketching session for children and families); and three short films (The Dot, Sky Color, and ISH), inspiring kids to create their own dots, squiggles and much more.


A series of educational activities will be available for adults, families, and youth including an Express Tour of the exhibition, a creative masterclass using paper and print focusing on an abstract representation of ideas, led by an Emirati artist, and, a Make and Play activity where children can experiment with different kinds of paper to make a paper portrait and other objects, and a Young Visitor’s Guide offering the opportunity to learn about the properties and stories of paper throughout history. An online papermaking masterclass with Emirati artist Taqwa Al Naqbi will teach participants how to make their own handmade paper, inspired by the Qur’an commissioned by Sultan Abdullah II Al Sa'adi, and enjoy with the family a Make a Plant illustration activity.

Battling it out on the dance floor: Josh wraps up Nach Baby Dance in a Grand Finale in Mumbai



Celebrity judges Malaika Arora and Prabhudeva crown the winners as the dance icons of India
