Indian fascination with Jewelry starts quite early in life as we are called Sona , Sonu ( Gold ) and we grow up watching Weddings, Gods, Goddesses, TV serials dazzling with still more Gold, Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies, Sapphires, Jades, Corals etc. Even our legendary popular epics Ramayana and Mahabharata weaves glorious stories about jewelry of Sita, Kaikeyi, Urvashi, Pururava, Satyavati, Kunti, Droupadi, Karna, Ashwathama, Krishna, and even the villain Ravana in glitzy details. Koh-i-Noor is the ultimate jewellery fantasy of every Indian. It's no wonder then that Indian Jeweller Retail Industry is worth $ 30 Billion and growing astronomically.
On this ritzy background when I was invited for the Retail Jeweller India Awards Grand Jury Meet 2016 , to preview the latest masterworks of the Indian jewellery industry. I was excited to be the Blogger-guest of Retail Jeweller India group, publishers of India’s favorite business magazine, an Elite Circle of Excellence also famous as the Oscars of Jewellery industry. The GRAND JURY MEET, a distinctive event showcased India’s top 250 unique and innovative jewellery creations nominated from the most reputed jewellery houses across the country at Jade Ballroom, Sahara Star, Mumbai.
The Jade Ballroom of Sahara Star hotel was fully studded with galaxy of Bollywood stars on 26th July for #RJIA2016 . Paparazzi were having a field day with glamorous juries such as Esha Deol, Sanah Kapur, Divya Kumar Khosla, Sanjana Patel, Rouble Nagi , Ananya Banerjee , Shaziya Khan , Pearl Contractor Chef , Nawaz Mody Singhania , Nishka Lulla etc. and they went berserk when brand new mamma Arpita Khan Sharma arrived in an embellished Navy blue silk gown.
