Mumbai, April 29, 2023: Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) hosted the first ever ‘Maharashtra Neurodiversity Meet’ in Mumbai under its flagship Pay Autention Autism Support initiative, in its efforts to empower the Autism support network in Maharashtra. The platform brought together over 50 institutions working on neurodiversity and Autism domains to collaborate for wider reach.

The meet was inaugurated by Mr. Himal Tewari, CHRO, Chief Sustainability & CSR, Tata Power alongside thought leaders, NGO representatives, Anganwadi workers, corporates, and domain experts who came together to share their experiences and add impetus to the Pay Autention efforts. A few of the key participants who addressed the event were Dr. Ravi Singh, Head, National Institute for Empowerment of People with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID) under The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ms. Mani Gupta, Head of Delivery, Healthcare & Lifesciences Digital Solutions, Tata Elxsi, Ms Dilshad Mehershahi, Founder, Mann Centre for Individual with Special Needs, Mr. Vineet Saraiwala, Founder, Atypical Advantage, Mr. Kapil Kumar Agarwal, Founder & CEO, Viklang Sahara Samiti, Dr. Azizudeen Khan, Pro. Psychophysiology Laboratory, Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Bombay and Kamakshi & Vishala from Sound Space The experiential event included a series of expert sessions, art &food by Café Arpan, managed by differently-abled youngsters and ‘Access for All’ and technology exhibits to help participants experience and appreciate neurodiversity. 


Since its launch, over the last year, many institutions & champions from different regions have come together to work through the Pay Autention network, and the initiative aims to reach out to 1,000 institutions by 2027. The initiative has touched 10,000+ lives through its workshops, street plays, learning videos, and helpline so far. Over 900 Anganwadi workers and auxiliary nurses, and midwives have been trained to become early identifiers and community champions. In its effort to create grassroot awareness, over 24 street plays have been organized, in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Odisha. The initiative aims to adopt cross-learnings from global community-care models, train educational professionals to be more inclusive, and creation of a phygital ecosystem for early diagnosis, acceptance, and care.

Speaking on the initiative, Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power said “ Pay Autention was launched with the mission of promoting inclusion and creating a robust support ecosystem for individuals with Autism, with a focus on mainstreaming the cause of neurodiversity. Over the past year, the initiative focussed on raising grassroot awareness and developing a large-scale bridgital platform to bring together stakeholders like corporates, social enterprises, and govt ministries to design a pan-India support movement. We aim to bring in more organizations and support champions to partner with us to bridge gaps and expand access to the network.”

Awareness of Autism and Neurodiversity is still at a nascent stage, and we still have a long way to go as large parts of our society still lie in the realms of unawareness, myths, doubts, and even shame. As we are completing one year of our Pay Autention initiative, we are grateful to each one of our partners who joined us over the last year on this inclusivity journey. The event also saw Mr. Himal Tewari and Mr. Vineet Saraiwala, Founder of Atypical Advantage launching the Pay Autention Volunteer-Champions Training Manual for Autism Awareness curated by Tata Power Community Development Trust along with its knowledge partner CADRRE. The summit also had an interactive panel discussion where experts discussed multi-sectoral synergies for an effective outreach mechanism to create awareness about neurodiversity and the significant role of NGOs in the formation of an effective network, the process of networking in neurodiversity domain along with leveraging the existing rural network in creating autism support. Professor Azizuddin Khan, IIT Bombay enlightened the audience about the potential of assistive technology to transform the lives of people with disabilities, highlighting the importance of continued innovation and accessibility in the neurodiversity domain.


Driving home the point on how society and corporations can accept and embrace neurodiverse people as a part of day to day living, the event also showcased dance and music performances, and various workshops like stone painting, doodling, and creative stitching anchored by neurodiverse talent. Aanganwadi workers who are registered with the Pay Autention initiative shared their experience and spoke about how the program has empowered them to be the primary identification and support champions augmenting early intervention for children and young adults with Autism. Several Tata Group companies employees and volunteers participated in this endeavour; enabling sensitization of associates at workplace while serving larger society.


As per estimates by the Indian Council of Medical Research, India is home to more than ten million individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With every 100th child on the autism spectrum in India, it becomes imperative that practicing physicians, rehabilitation professionals, paediatricians, regular schoolteachers, early childcare professionals and paraprofessionals, parents, NGOs along with other mainstream travel, utilities, service, and retail industry professionals are thoroughly aware of inclusive and positive ways of interacting with individuals with autism and allied learning disabilities.


Earlier in April 2023, TPCDT in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a statutory body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, hosted a public webinar and refresher training on ‘A collective approach to the inclusion of people on the Autism Spectrum’ on World Autism Awareness Day – where an audience of over 1000 special educators participated and earned recertification points as per RCI testing guidelines. Speakers at the webinar shed light upon the latest developments and strides in community care models as well as the voluntary groups run globally, highlighting good practices in technology for the inclusion of people on the Autism spectrum.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, delivered the inaugural address at the 'India Calling Conference 2023' organized by the Indian Merchants Chamber in Mumbai. During his address, he highlighted the contribution of companies from small countries, such as the Czech Republic and Poland, to the supply chain of big companies around the globe.

Minister Goyal appealed to all to aim for a 47 trillion dollar economy when India reaches the year 2047. He added that India has tried to formalize the economy and has met with great success. The spirit of team, competitiveness, and positivity are necessary for success, and that kind of spirit can be seen in Mumbai, which is not only the financial capital but also the fun capital of India, he added.


Minister Goyal said that every single geography in the world has a lot of hope and expectation from India, and though it can be sometimes daunting, it shows the confidence of the world in India's future. He said, "India reflects the vision of the world as one Economy. While Commerce Industry teams are negotiating Free Trade Agreements with a deep focus on protecting India's interest, India believes that true prosperity happens when the whole world prospers. India believes in Vaccine Maitri under which it delivered 278 million doses to poorer countries mostly free because India feels safe when the world is safe."

The Minister further added that the 'Panch Pran' given by the Prime Minister can be realized only if it becomes the commitment of the entire nation. He emphasized that the vision of a developed India will not be possible without the 'Nari Shakti' of India and a corruption-free nation. He applauded the commitment of the industry to social causes and said that all of us are determined for a better future for India.

During the conference, Dinesh Joshi, Chairman, IMC International Business Committee, highlighted the success story of 'Make in India' initiative, where India has turned out to be one of the most favored manufacturing hubs. He mentioned that India's smart phone exports have increased from zero to 90,000 crores, and centers of excellence are being set up for the manufacture of electronics, pharma, textiles, and solar manufacturing. He also noted that India has made considerable progress in sectors such as defense, space, hydrogen energy, and fintech.

Anant Singhania, President, IMC, in his welcome address, said that India is now the 5th largest nation by GDP, up from 10th place since 2014. He highlighted the government's initiatives to link ordinary Indians to their electronic identity through a set of digital services, which has caused the cost of technology to drop. This and the conducive ecosystem created by the Government of India have transformed the startup scene in India, making India the world's third-largest startup hub, he observed. He also noted how India has gone from creating 1 Unicorn/year to 42 Unicorns in 2021 and in a span of 10 years emerged as the number 1 mobile data consuming nation.

    CMAI commences the 3rd edition of Indian Garment Industry’s largest Supply Chain B2B event - the CMAI FAB Show 2023

    Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited (CIFCL), a leading financial services provider in India, its maiden public issue of secured, rated, listed redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) has been oversubscribed 5.11 times on the second day of the issue which garnered close to Rs 2557 crore. 

    Issue opened on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 and closes Thursday, April 27, it was to close on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 with an option of early closure.

    The issue has a face value of Rs. 1,000 each. The base issue size is Rs. 500 crore with an option to retain oversubscription up to Rs. 500 crore, aggregating up to Rs. 1000 crore, within the Shelf limit of Rs. 5000 crore (“Tranche I Issue”).

    According to the base issue size, the NCDs was subscribed 1.93 times in the Retail Investor Category, 7.10 times in the Institutional Investor Category, 10.45 times in the Non-Institutional Investors Category, and 2.01 times in the HNI Investors Category. The Issue opened on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 and closes Thursday, April 27, it was to close on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 with an option of early closure.

    Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav (SAKSHAM-2023) has been organized by Petroleum Ministry & State Level Coordination Committee  for conservation and economical use of Oil & Natural gas. The Inaugural function was organised  at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre Auditorium. Hon'ble Minister Shri Ravindra Chavan was speaking on occasion.

    In this program, students presented various skits to create awareness on fuel saving. Also, the winners of various debate competitions were given away prizes and teachers were also felicitated for their outstanding contribution towards conservation of Oil & Gas in the state

    - Despite global headwinds and increased risk exposure Indian enterprises take efficient steps leading to improved scores

    Mumbai, April 25th, 2023: Despite facing challenges such as tightening global monetary policies, rising inflation, slowing global growth, and elevated commodity prices, the Indian government and corporates have demonstrated resilience by employing efficient risk management strategies.  This is reflected in the 3rdedition of the Corporate India Risk Index (CIRI) 2022, a proprietary study conducted by ICICI Lombard in collaboration withFrost and Sullivan, which shows a rise in the risk index score from 62 in 2021 to 63 in 2022.     The 2022 Risk Index shows all 20 sectors in 'Superior' or 'Optimal Risk Handling', with 7 sectors demonstrating 'Superior' handling, including Automotive, FMCG, Tourism, Healthcare, Telecom, Pharmaceuticals, and New Age..

    The 'Aerospace & Defence' sector showed the most improvement in the Risk Index, bouncing back from 52 in 2021 to 63 in 2022 due to government and enterprise-led initiatives. Traditional sectors are also preparing for technological risks such as cyber threats and innovation risks.

    Sectors such as Tourism & Hospitality and Transportation & Logistics have efficiently dealt with disruptions caused by the fuel price hike and terrorism. However, the Metals & Mining and Chemical & Petrochemical sectors showed a dip in risk management due to external macro-economic factors.

    Besides highlighting the performance of corporates on the Corporate India Risk Index, the study recommends measures to mitigate risk and achieve a Superior Risk Index score in 2023. These include envisioning risk through scenario planning, de-risking through a holistic approach, and using predictive future analysis to gain actionable insights.

    Mumbai: The inaugural function to commemorate the Ramakrishna Math & Mission Mumbai’s 100 years of  spreading spirituality & service to Humanity got off to a great start at Rang Sharda Auditorium on the 21st of April. After the arrival of Most Rev Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of the Ramakrishna Mission order, the programme started with Chanting of Vedic Hymns.

    Adhyaksha Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Mumbai Rev Swami Satyadevananda Maharaj welcomed the audience comprising a galaxy of monks and devotees -  A packed auditorium with a seating capacity of 850. He specifically mentioned that he was very thankful to Honourable Governor who had accepted the invitation to  grace the occasion and came in spite of his very busy schedule.

He  briefly mentioned a role he played in his younger days in Mr. Eknath Ranade’s mission to build the Kanyakumari Memorial Statue in the honour of Swami Vivekananda.

    He also mentioned the great role played by Ramakrishna Mission Mumbai over the last so many years in various relief activities and acknowledged its efforts in uplifting the living conditions of people in the rural tribal belt through its Sakwar centre and the great value the Ramakrishna Mission Charitable Hospital plays in the lives of the under-privileged sections in the city of Mumbai

    Adhyaksha Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission Mumbai Rev Swami Satyadevananda Maharaj  also thanked Most Revered Swami GautamanandaJi, senior most Vice President of the order and  Revered Swami Suviranandaji, General secretary of the order for accepting the invitation to grace this auspicious occasion, in spite of their busy schedule. 

    In his welcome address, he said  “It is a matter of great pride that Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission Mumbai has completed 100 years. Not many institutions are able to cross this landmark - He also mentioned Swami Vivekananda’s assertion that Ramakrishna Mission would serve humanity for more than 1500 years - In that context the institution is still in its sunrise years” 

    His welcome address was followed by the felicitation of  Chief Guest, Honourable Governor of Maharashtra Shri Ramesh Bais by him and other Senior Monks on the Dias.

    The Vice President of Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Math Most Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj shared some incidents of Ramakrishna Mission Mumbai and how he fondly remembers his stay while he was posted here. Talkin about the Philosophy of Atmano Mokshartham Jagat Hitayacha, he recounted one incident from Swami Vivekananda’s life. Once Swami Vivekananda wanted to feed the Santhal Labourers from his own hand. They were not agreeing. Swamiji requested and finally they agreed. When they were eating Swamiji started crying and remarked…”Look I can see Narayana in all of them.Please take care of all them”

    The General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur Math, Revered Swami Suvirananda Maharaj mentioned that it is heartening to note that the Govt of India has come forward on its own to observe the 125 years of Ramakrishna mission. 

    It is not a co-incidence therefore that the Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission order is acknowledged as a saga of success.

    He re-iterated what the Honourabe Prime Minister recently commented about Ramakrishna Mission. He said “It is a milestone in the history of modern India”

    Commenting on the momentous occasion of the 100 years of Ramakrishna Math & Mission Mumbai he mentioned that it was indeed a privilege and honour to attend the inaugural function of a centre that has been blessed by the visits of many Direct Disciples of Sri Ramakrishna.

    Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal felicitates top exporters at the 49th India Gem & Jewellery Awards

    Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal attended the 49th edition of the India Gem & Jewellery Awards in Mumbai today. Organized by the the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the event honours top exporters of the sector. The Union Minister felicitated 28 top exporters and facilitators during the award ceremony, which also had the presence of Frank Geerkens, Consul General of Belgium in Mumbai as Guest of Honour.  Chairman GJEPC, Vipul Shah, Senthilnathan, Chairman and Managing Director Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC), Shyam Jagannathan, the Development Commissioner of Santacruz Electronic Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ) and other senior Government officials were among the dignitaries present.

    In his keynote address, Shri Piyush Goyal congratulated GJEPC for successfully organizing the awards ceremony and for giving him the opportunity to address the leaders of the Gem and Jewellery industry. He stated that he hopes all the award winners and aspirants will continue to work together in the true spirit of competition to persevere and to make the Industry and the country proud. The Union Minister complimented the industry for leaving its mark all around the globe and for achieving good results despite an unfavourable global economic climate.  Shri Goyal also recognized the important role played by SEEPZ to ensure orderly growth of exports across sectors in the country.

    Speaking on the Gems and Jewellery industry, Union Minister Piyush Goyal stated that the designs, aesthetics and blend of tradition and modernity the industry’s products reflect establish that India has truly arrived. He expressed confidence that the Gems and Jewellery industry will continue its growth story creating millions of jobs and opportunities for the youth of the country. “We in Government are trying our best to ensure that ease of doing business is improved, so that industries like yours continue to carry out business honestly and efficiently”, added the Union Minister.

    The Minister went on to say that the spirit of cooperation and friendship even amidst tight competition is what differentiates the Gem and Jewellery industry from others. He described how Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership gives the Government the strength and determination to ensure that India becomes a developed and prosperous nation by 2047, the 100th year of Independence.

    Shri Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, congratulated Union Minister Piyush Goyal for the monumental achievement of $770 billion in aggregate exports combining both merchandise and services from India for the financial year 2022-23. Thanking the Government for India the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)  with the UAE and India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, GJEPC’s Chairman expressed hope that the free trade agreements with the U.K., Canada and EU, which are being negotiated, will help exporters to touch the US$ 1 trillion mark in exports.

    GJEPC Chairman  Vipul Shah further said, "The mega common facility centre (CFC) which is coming up in SEEPZ, Mumbai with an investment of Rs. 100 crore from Govt. is a vision of the Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal to modernize the sector and help the medium and small-scale units with latest technology. The Centre which is being built with direct supervision and patronage of the minister is planned to be inaugurated in September this year. It will be operated and run by the Council. A special committee and Secretariat is already been set up for this by the Council which is coordinating with SEEPZ authorities on a daily basis to commission this in record time". GJEPC has already started building one of the largest jewellery parks in the world in Navi Mumbai, added GJEPC Chairman Vipul Shah as he sought the Union Commerce and Industry Ministry’s guidance in setting up this establishment which seeks to transform Indian exports of jewellery in line with that of Turkey or Italy.

    For the FY 2022-23, the overall gem & jewellery exports grew 2.48% to Rs. 300462.52 crores as compared Rs. 293193.19 crores for the same period previous year. In terms of US dollars, the overall gem & jewellery exports accounted for US$ 37468.66 million as compared US$ 39331.71 million for the same period last year.

    To keep pace with the changing business landscape, the 49th edition of the award ceremony featured new Award categories such as Maximum number of clients, Lab Grown Diamonds, and Innovation in the field of Technology, New business model, service sector, patent, digital, e-commerce. In addition to recognizing companies that exhibit business excellence and contribution to the promotion of "Brand India," the GJEPC also awarded Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, and Banks financing the industry.

    The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India (GoI) in 1966, is one of several Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) launched by the Indian Government, to boost the country’s export thrust, when India’s post-Independence economy began making forays in the international markets.
