Komal Nahta, one of India’s most respected trade analysts, is back with a fresh season of his podcast Game Changers: The Music Series. This edition shines a spotlight on celebrated singers, composers, and music maestros as they share their creative journeys, inspirations, and the untold stories behind the music that has shaped generations. The latest episode featured Kumar Taurani and Ramesh Taurani.
As the Managing Director of Tips Industries Limited, Ramesh Taurani stands as one of the most prolific film producers and music moguls in Hindi cinema, having curated some of the industry's biggest chart-busting soundtracks and blockbuster hits over the decades. While talking about the best and worst producers he has worked with in the industry, Ramesh shares, “Subhash Ji is very good. Indra Kumar, Ashok Thakeria, G.P. Sippy were very good. When G.P. Sippy’s 'Patthar Ke Phool' did well, he made 'Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman' with Jatin-Lalit. Vivek, Anand Balani and I selected the songs and went to Sippy Sir and showed him the songs. The first song was Shekhar Kapur’s ‘Sardi Khaasi Na Malaria Hua, Mujhko Loveria Hua.’ I said, ‘Yeh aaj se 20 saal tak picture nahi banaega.’ When Sippy Sahab heard the song, he was confused about the meaning behind Loveria and we told him its the wordplay between Love and Malaria. He said to add ‘Love Love Love Loveria’ instead of plain ‘Loveria.’ That detail was genuis. You never know when who will give you."
