NSE reports 55% PAT margin in FY26, top three globally | 84% dividend payout | 33% return on equity
NSE reported a 55.1% profit after tax margin in FY26, ranking third globally among major listed exchanges, behind CME Group and HKEX. BSE stood at 48.3%.
NSE converts more than half of its revenue into profit, significantly higher than most Western peers. Its PAT margin further improved to 59% in the latest quarter.
NSE has also combined strong profitability with growth, with total income growing at a 20.5% CAGR from FY22 to FY26.
NSE reported a 33% return on equity in FY26, among the top three globally. This was achieved with a debt-free balance sheet and ₹68,198 crore in treasury investments.
NSE has also increased shareholder returns, with dividend per share rising from ₹18 in FY24 to ₹35 in FY26, while the payout ratio increased from 54% to 84%.
