GOVINDA: A Tale of Faith, A thematic dance production comes to Mumbai

A 12- year- old, Dubai based, Bharatanatyam artiste Neetara Nair to present an original dance production at Gokul Saraswati Auditorium

ARTMOS is delighted to present Govinda: A Tale of Faith, an original Bharatanatyam dance production featuring the young and accomplished artiste Neetara Nair. Conceived, choreographed and directed by acclaimed Bharatanatyam artiste Puja Unni, the production will be presented at Gokul Saraswati Auditorium, Mumbai on Friday, 31 July 2026.

About Govinda

Govinda: A Tale of Faith is a contemplative and immersive dance production that journeys through devotion, longing, self-realisation and surrender. Structured across five chapters—Longing, Calling, Realisation, Journey and Surrender—the work explores the inner world of a young seeker whose innocent curiosity gradually transforms into a profound spiritual quest.

Moving beyond the conventional margam format, Govinda unfolds through an entirely original musical score, weaving together rhythm, expressive storytelling and theatrical design. Incorporating Telugu, Sanskrit and English, the production remains rooted in Bharatanatyam while making its emotional and spiritual narrative accessible to audiences from diverse backgrounds.

About Neetara Nair

At just twelve years of age, Neetara Nair has emerged as one of the promising young Bharatanatyam soloists of her generation. Based in Dubai, she trains under Acharya Smt. Puja Unni and has already performed nearly twenty full-length solo recitals across India and the UAE.

Her performances at prestigious festivals including the Khajuraho Dance Festival, Kalarigram's Sharadotsav, Thripurandhara Festival, Sri Mookambika Cultural Trust and Bekal Gokulam Goushala reflect remarkable artistic maturity. Her stage presence combines technical precision with emotional honesty, qualities that make her portrayal in Govinda especially compelling.
