Union Minister Hon. Ramdas Athawale lauds ‘Mahalakshmi Saras’; the taste of ‘UMED’ products now reaches directly into the Minister’s kitchen!
Mumbai: Describing ‘Mahalakshmi Saras’ as not merely an exhibition but a powerful platform for the empowerment of rural women, Union Minister of State for Social Justice, Hon. Ramdas Athawale visited the exhibition at Bandra-Kurla Complex. During his visit, he toured various stalls, gathered information about the products and interacted with women entrepreneurs from the ‘UMED’ initiative, encouraging and motivating them.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Athawale said, “The initiative is strengthening the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create 1 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ across the country. We will work with full commitment to achieve this goal.” He further stated that the exhibition serves as an important platform for the economic empowerment of rural women.
Appreciation for the work of Hon. Jaykumar Gore Referring to the organization of this innovative initiative and the schemes being implemented for rural development, he particularly appreciated the efforts of Maharashtra’s Minister for Rural Development, Hon. Jaykumar Gore. He noted that the proactive efforts of the Rural Development Department in providing a strong marketplace to women from every corner of the state are commendable.

Hon. Athawale was impressed by the quality of the pure, traditional, and homemade spices, grains, and other food products showcased at the exhibition. The taste of these products will now reach directly into the Union Minister’s kitchen, as he personally purchased several items thereby encouraging the women entrepreneurs
