Zee TV unveils Lakshmi Niwas, starring Manasi Joshi Roy and Rajendra Chawla, a family drama celebrating dreams, sacrifices, and togetherness

Mumbai, January 8, 2026: For every middle-class Indian joint family, two dreams remain closest to the heart yet hardest to achieve: owning a home and marrying off their daughters with dignity. Rooted in this universal truth, Zee TV introduces Lakshmi Niwas, a poignant family drama that captures the hopes, silent sacrifices that parents make for their children.

Staying true to its philosophy of 'Aapka Apna Zee', the channel presents a warm, relatable story that reflects the emotional core of Indian households, exploring the quiet tug-of-war between cherished traditions and the evolving aspirations of the younger generation.

At the heart of the story are Lakshmi and Srinivas, a couple who have spent 35 years living a life in a rented house, putting family above everything else. It is only after Srinivas’s retirement that they finally dare to chase their long-deferred dream of building a home of their own and getting their daughters married. However, in this journey, they are confronted with painful choices, conflicting expectations, and testing love, sacrifice, and the true meaning of togetherness.

Manasi Joshi Roy steps into the role of Lakshmi, a devoted wife and a nurturing mother of six, who stands as the emotional backbone of the family. Sharing her thoughts on the show, Manasi said, “Lakshmi Niwas is a story that touched my heart instantly because it mirrors the reality of so many Indian households. Lakshmi represents countless women who quietly shoulder responsibilities, make sacrifices without complaining, and hold their families together with unwavering love, patience, and inner strength. Veteran actor Rajendra Chawla as Srinivas, the respected head of the joint family, who may not be rich in wealth but is immensely rich in love, values, and goodwill. He shared, “Srinivas is a man who has spent his entire life putting his family before himself, often at the cost of his own desires. His dream of building a home is not merely about bricks and walls, but about creating a sense of security, belonging, and togetherness for everyone he loves.
