Mumbai, 4 March 2025 – The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Regional Centre Mumbai, held a media meet today at 11:30 AM to present its ongoing initiatives and upcoming events under the Fit India and Khelo India programs. The event highlighted SAI’s efforts to enhance sports infrastructure, athlete development, and public engagement in fitness and wellness.
The session began with a presentation by the Assistant Director, Apoorva Manda SAI RC Mumbai, who outlined SAI’s mission, key initiatives, and the importance of sports science in athlete training. She also introduced the Fit India calendar, featuring a series of events in March aimed at promoting community participation in fitness activities.
The event also featured an athlete interaction session, where international medalists Samarth Mhakave and Pragati Gaikwad (Wrestling), Nishant Karandikar (Artistic Gymnastics), and Rishabh Das (Swimming) shared their experiences with the media. Rutuja Pisal (Hockey) and Aditya Angal (Fencing) also contributed through a pre-recorded video message.
Sh. Pandurang Chate, IRS, Regional Director, SAI RC Mumbai, addressed the media, outlining the future plans for sports development in the region and emphasizing the role of media in fostering a culture of sports and fitness awareness.
Following the session, media representatives took part in a guided tour of SAI RC Mumbai’s state-of-the-art sports science facilities, gaining insights into their role in enhancing athlete performance.
The event concluded with a photo session and a formal luncheon, where attendees learned about the scientifically designed nutrition programs followed by SAI athletes.
This media meet reaffirmed SAI’s commitment to developing world-class sports infrastructure, supporting athlete growth, and promoting a culture of fitness and wellness across the nation
