MIT-World Peace University Pune Opens Admissions for B.Tech Programmes for the Academic Year 2023-24

Mumbai, 19 June 2023: MIT-World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, has announced the opening of admissions for its Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes for the academic year 2023-24. 

The university offers four-year B.Tech programmes in the fields of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Materials Science & Engineering. Students can apply at admissions.mitwpu.edu.in. The last date to apply to these programmes is 20th June 2023

Students pursuing any B.Tech programme (apart from in Computer Science & Engineering) at the university can also pursue a minor in computer science and engineering. Additionally, all students at the FoET get a chance to pursue Linux-based Python Laboratory, Basic loT Laboratory, Data Science for Engineers, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) for extra credits. They get hands-on training in technologies and tools like iOS Training using Swift, mobile application development (using Kotlin), full stack development, internet technologies, internet of things, data science, cyber security, etc. This unique offering helps bridge the gap between industry and academia, enabling students to gain a competitive edge. The highest package received by any student at MIT-WPU is 44.14 Lakhs CTC* (including sign-on bonus and ESOPs).

Eligibility: - To apply for admission to any B.Tech programme at MIT-WPU, candidates should have appeared for either JEE 2023 or MHTCET 2023, or PERA 2023. 

To be eligible for admission to B.Tech courses:

For B.Tech in CSE and ECE programmes, a minimum aggregate score of 60% (55% for backward class category candidates belonging to Maharashtra only) in PCM or Physics & Mathematics with a technical vocational subject is required. Compulsory subjects include Physics, Mathematics, English, and Chemistry or technical vocational courses in 10+2/Class 12th or equivalent exam. Alternatively, candidates who have completed a Diploma in Engineering & Technology in a relevant branch from a UGC-approved university with a minimum aggregate score of 60% and without any backlog are also eligible to apply.

For B.Tech in Bioengineering, a minimum aggregate score of 60% (55% for backward class category candidates belonging to Maharashtra only) in PCM/PCB or Physics & Mathematics with any technical vocational subject is required. Compulsory subjects include Physics, Mathematics, and English with Chemistry/Biotechnology or Biology/Technical Vocational Courses in 10+2/Class 12th or equivalent examination. Completion of Diploma in Engineering & Technology in an appropriate branch from a UGC-approved university with a minimum aggregate score of 60% and no backlog is also acceptable. The candidates also apply through either MHTCET-B 2023 or NEET 2023 scores.

For B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Materials Science & Engineering, a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for backward class category candidates belonging to Maharashtra only) in PCM or Physics & Mathematics with any technical vocational subject is required. Compulsory subjects include Physics, Mathematics, and English with Chemistry/technical vocational courses in 10+2/class 12th or equivalent examination. Alternatively, a minimum aggregate score of 50% in Diploma in Engineering & Technology in an appropriate branch from a UGC approved University or equivalent (without backlog) is also acceptable. 

Selection Process: -The selection process for B.Tech programmes is based on JEE 2023 / MHTCET 2023 / PERA 2023 / MHTCET-B* 2023 / NEET* 2023 scores and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) (500 words) written by the student. [*Applicable only for Bioengineering programme].

In addition, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology also offers direct entry to the 2nd year (lateral entry) for all B.Tech programmes. To be eligible for this, candidates must have passed diploma courses in the academic year 2022-23, 2021-22, & 2020-21 in Engineering and Technology with a minimum of 60% marks in the appropriate branch of engineering and technology from an All-India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent (at least 55% marks, in case of backward class category candidate belonging to Maharashtra only). The selection process for the lateral entry programmes is based on the Diploma aggregate scores and an SOP (500 words) written by the student. Provisional admissions are offered based on 5th-semester scores, in case results of the final semester are awaited.
