FORTIS HOSPITAL MULUND LAUNCHES MOTHER AND CHILD CARE FLOOR, ‘THE NEST’ – WHERE MOTHERS TO BE, NEED TO BE

Mulund, Mumbai - May 20th, 2023: Fortis Hospital Mulund today inaugurated the ‘NEST’ - a new floor especially curated for mothers-to-be and newborns. This 29-bedded floor was inaugurated by Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO, Fortis Healthcare, Dr S. Narayani, Business Head - Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra, along with mom, author & fitness enthusiast, Ms Mandira Bedi. This specially designed birthing environment would address all aspects of birthing, including health screenings, latest in obstetrics including top-of-the-line labor suites, pre & postpartum care, management of high-risk pregnancies, extreme pre-term deliveries, neonatal and pediatric care set-ups.

The design of the ‘NEST’ floor at the hospital offers a simple and harmonious design curated on the concept of ‘healing architecture’. Focusing on design, natural light (to aid body’s healing processes), colour (to stimulate positivity), and views of nature (to promote warmth & peace), the biophilic design of the floor provides a sense of calm, while promoting a sense of wellbeing. The features of this floor will provide an environment that would promote health and healing by offering comfort, safety & care for the patients, families, staff, and visitors alike. Patient care at the ‘NEST’ will be helmed by experienced Obstetrics & Gynaecologists, Paediatricians, Neonatologists, Intensivists, Anaesthesiologists, Obstetrical nurses, and nurse practitioners. 

Speaking at the launch of the ‘NEST’, Dr S. Narayani, Business Head - Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra, said, “With the launch of the ‘NEST’ floor, we are offering a memorable care experience for mothers-to-be, new moms & their newborns. Mandira Bedi, an author & fitness enthusiast and a young mom herself, was delighted to inaugurate the new floor. She spoke about the importance of providing mothers with the support they need to have a positive and healthy experience during pregnancy and postpartum. She also commended the team that conceptualized and built the ‘NEST' floor for its commitment to providing a personalized and holistic care experience to mothers. Pregnancy is the most beautiful journey of a women’s life, healthcare infrastructure like the ‘NEST’ will enhance the maternity experience of expectant mothers.
