ILLEGAL FILM SHOOTING BEING UNDERTAKEN IN THE STATE OF GOA

Goa, 15 th April 2021: The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) is the nodal agency for providing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for film shooting in the State of Goa through the Line Producers registered with the ESG and the Goan Producers & Production Houses.

It has been brought to the notice of the ESG Authorities, that many illegal film shootings are being undertaken in the State of Goa i.e. without obtaining the necessary film shooting permissions from the ESG. It is hereby informed to all that film shootings being undertaken in the State of Goa, mandatorily require a NOC from the ESG. Those undertaking film shootings without obtaining an NOC from the ESG would be liable to face action as per law.

The current procedure for obtaining film shooting permissions in the State of Goa is as below: 

A request for film shooting in the State of Goa is received at the office of the ESG from the registered Line Producers of ESG or Goan Producers/Production houses, either through e-mails or letters in the prescribed forms.

The requests are processed by the ESG by notifying or seeking permissions from various concerned departments/agencies applicable. After carrying out due procedures, the No Objection Certificate (NOC) is issued to the applicant for shooting in Goa.

The ESG charges an amount of Rs. 10,000/- from the applicant as processing fees and concerned Panchayats has a revenue share of Rs. 3000/- in the said amount. The other agencies/departments also charge a fee for shooting locations under their jurisdiction as per applicability.

It may be noted that only after completion of the payment and processing, the NOC is issued by ESG for the shooting permissions in the State of Goa.

All the shooting permissions in the State of Goa are routed through the Goan Line Producers registered with the ESG. Only Goan Production Houses or Goan Producers can apply for shooting permissions directly.
