 Last weekend turned out to be sweet as desserts from all over India made way to Courtyard by Marriott , Mumbai International Airport. Curated by Chef Raghvendra Singh, the Halwai specialist at Courtyard by Marriott, Mumbai International Airport, the Great Indian Halwai Festival included a huge spread of Indian sweets made with a special twist. It is Chef Raghvendra’s dream to see the Halwais reach a global level and it is his passion that has inspired him to pursue this mission of creating and presenting various Indian mithais.



The afternoon began with Chef Raghvendra preparing three delectable sweets from different states of India. He recreated the magic of Rajasthani winters by preparing the delectable Jalebis and also gave a spin to the famous Ras-mallai and the Bengali Imarti. Chef also shared some of the best kept kitchen secrets that go into the making these special mithais from the different states across India.



Chef Raghvendra not only ensured that the sweet cravings are satiated but also shared his inspiring story and his mission to make the concept of ‘Halwai’ famous globally. The lunch left the audience in awe of Chef Raghvendra’s journey which started at a sweet shop in Kanpur and gradually progressed to making him a popular Halwai on a global mission.



“It was our pleasure to host the Great Indian Halwai Festival which gave our in house Halwai specialist Chef Raghvendra a chance to present his Indian sweet specialties at a larger platform.
