M|O|C Cancer Care celebrates the unwavering spirit of cancer survivors with their patient initiative “Vijeta”

Vijeta is M|O|C Cancer Care's effort to bridge a Critical Gap in Cancer Care- Survivorship, Community and the Power of Advocacy

Mumbai, July 5, 2026: In a moving celebration of courage, resilience and hope, over 250 cancer survivors came together at the program, 'Vijeta- Strong Minds Against Cancer', a special initiative by M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre, dedicated to honouring individuals who continue to embrace life with strength and optimism beyond their cancer diagnosis.

M|O|C Cancer Care Mumbai brought together their survivors, caregivers and oncologists for a morning of heartfelt conversations, inspiring personal stories and meaningful interactions that served as a reminder that while cancer may become a part of an individual's journey, it does not define their identity, purpose or future. The programme also featured interactive sessions with oncologists and special guests, offering survivors an opportunity to connect, share experiences and draw strength from one another.

Renowned actress Girija Oak, who attended the event as the Celebrity Guest, applauded the resilience and positivity of the survivors and encouraged them to continue inspiring others through their remarkable journeys.

Dr Pritam Kalaskar, Director & Cofounder of M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre said; "We at MOC are committed to simplifying the cancer treatment journey by bringing together expert oncologists, trained paramedics, evidence-based treatments and robust safety protocols, at affordable costs and within accessible distances. It is equally imperative that we create a platform like Vijeta - a space where patients can share experiences, learn from each other and find collective strength as a community."

Dr Kshitij Joshi, Director & Cofounder of M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre said, "We wish to make Vijeta a nationwide support and advocacy movement so that we can attempt redefining the conversation around cancer, shifting the focus from illness to survivorship, resilience and the extraordinary strength of the human spirit. Global evidence consistently shows that survivorship support groups significantly improve patient motivation, treatment adherence and overall quality of life."

Girija Oak, actress and Chief Guest at the event, said, "Meeting these incredible individuals has been a deeply humbling experience. Their journeys remind us that true strength lies not in the absence of challenges, but in the courage to face them every day.

The event also provided a platform for survivors and their families to build meaningful connections with others who have walked similar paths, fostering a sense of community, encouragement and shared understanding.
