Despite Peddi’s Massive Success, Director Buchi Babu Sana Responds to the Only Criticism, Addresses Concerns and Announces Changes to the Film: “It was never our intention to objectify or disrespect any female character”

_Ram Charan's Peddi opened to a phenomenal response in theatres worldwide, collecting a massive ₹135.36 crore+ gross on Day 1, making it his second 100 crore opening, also marking one of the biggest openings and biggest successes of Indian cinema this year._ 

Peddi, starring Ram Charan, has been one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. After months of immense anticipation and excitement, the film finally opened in theatres to a resounding response. Audiences across the country are embracing the film wholeheartedly, with social media flooded with glowing reactions and rave reviews. 

However, amid the widespread appreciation, a section of viewers raised concerns over a particular aspect of the film. Addressing the feedback directly, Buchi Babu Sana issued a heartfelt statement, acknowledging the concerns and apologizing to those who felt hurt. The filmmaker emphasized that cinema should inspire, unite, and create meaningful connections, never leaving anyone feeling disrespected or uncomfortable.

In a move that has earned widespread respect, Buchi Babu Sana assured audiences that the team has listened carefully and will implement changes accordingly. His response reflects a filmmaker willing to engage with audience feedback even at the peak of success, proving that for him, responsibility and respect matter just as much as box-office triumphs.

Buchi Babu Sana tweeted, “As a filmmaker, I believe cinema should entertain, inspire, and connect with audiences. It should never make anyone feel uncomfortable or disrespected. We have heard the feedback regarding certain scenes in Peddi and have taken it seriously.

I have always had immense respect for women, both on and off screen, and it was never our intention to objectify or disrespect any female character. If any part of the film has been perceived that way, we respect those sentiments, understand the concerns being raised, and sincerely apologize.

After reviewing the feedback, we have decided to make changes to the concerned portions. Cinema grows through its connection with audiences, and as storytellers, we have a responsibility to be mindful of evolving perspectives and sensitivities.

Every woman deserves to be respected, valued, and represented with dignity. We remain committed to telling stories that celebrate strong characters and uphold those values.
