PCIT-5 Organise Outreach Programme on New Income Tax Act, 2025

The Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-5 (PCIT), Mumbai organized an awareness programme in Mumbai today at Juhu, Mumbai. The programme was organized to create awareness about the provisions of the new Income Tax Act 2025 and Income Tax Rules 2026. 

The Chief Guest of the programme was the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax-4, Nirupama Kotru. Principal Commissioner of Income Tax - 5, Monica Khare and President of Hotel and Restaurant Association Jimmy Shaw were present on this occasion.

The programme was conducted under Prarambh 2026, a nationwide initiative of the Income Tax Department to help taxpayers and stakeholders understand the provisions of the new law and ensure a smooth transition from the earlier framework.

Hosted by the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-5, Mumbai, the programme saw participation of taxpayers from the Hotel and Restaurant industry. Senior officers briefed attendees on simplification in language and structure of the New Income-tax Act 2025 and Income-tax Rules 2026. along with educational content accessible by stakeholders. Senior officials resolved the doubts of the attendees in the question and answer session.

The Department reaffirmed its commitment to ensure smooth transition to the New Income-tax act.
