Workshops & Activities

The Baaya Store will host exciting workshops during this period and enthusiasts can partake in a Copper Enamelling and Lippan workshop. Copper Enamelling is a practice native to Maharashtra that has fallen out of practice in recent years. Baaya has been working towards the revival of this art along with master Artisan Sanjayji, who will be leading the workshop. Moreover, the festival will celebrate interesting elements like an open mic for poets, a musical evening, rhymes, and rhythm.

Master Artist Lalitbhai will be passing secrets of Lippan art to the participants. Lippan art is made of clay or bamboo chips plastered in a mixture of river clay. The Lippan designs on the walls, partitions, doorways, lintels, niches, and floors are elaborate decorations that consist of textures created by the impressions of fingers and palms - and mirror inlay work.

Art

The ten-day festival will also feature a curated assortment of paintings that will be on display at the art gallery in the store. Aside from witnessing the festival, you can get yourself the perfect souvenir to take home at this festival.

As a green initiative, free saplings will be shared with early birds who register.
