Fevicol, India’s largest adhesive brand from the house of Pidilite Industries, held 14th edition of ‘Caring with Style’ fashion gala under its flagship campaign #JudengeLadengeJeetenge in association with Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) at NSCI Dome, Worli. This joint initiative by Fevicol and CPAA aims at raising funds for the Cancer Patients (Children with Leukaemia) and help them to lead a happy and healthy life. In this edition of ‘Fevicol Caring with Style’ fashion show, renowned celebrity duo-designer Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla along with queen of drapes, fashion designer and politician, Shaina NC showcased their collections.
It was a special occasion for the iconic adhesive brand Fevicol, as it is celebrating its 60 years of operations. It revealed its latest logo symbolising the milestone. Fevicol is India’s Most Trusted Brand of Adhesives and has become a household name that is today synonymous with adhesives. The brand has introduced many innovative products which have transformed the way carpentry trade operates in India. The brand has been associated with CPAA for over 14 years to raise funds and awareness about cancer.
14th edition of ‘Fevicol Caring with Style’ was an evening of style, substance, and heart. A host of Bollywood celebrities graced the ramp in the support of the cause. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Karan Johar, Shweta Bachchan Nanda dazzled the ramp for Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla while Farhan Akhtar, Preity Zinta, Amrita Rao were the showstoppers for Shaina NC.
The celebrity duo-designer Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla chose to pay tribute to India's textiles and embroidery legacy at their presentation for ‘Fevicol Caring with Style’ this year. Entitled ‘INHERITANCE', it was a spectacular expression of heritage textiles from across the country, each used as a canvas for spectacular embroideries.
Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla, said, "It is an immense honour and privilege to work with CPAA for the third year in a row. Their work to empower and heal people and families affected by Cancer is unsurpassed. As they mark 50 years of committed service to the community, we are delighted to be a part of this event. Cancer is treatable and beatable. Let's all be a part of this fight.
We have sourced the most exquisite fabrics and textiles from across India, from leading weavers and companies, each an expert in a particular weave. These fabrics form the DNA of this collection and our flight of fantasy to take our inheritance and create beauty."
From Bandhini tie and dye, Banarasi tissues, jamdanis and khadi to Assam weaves and Kanjeevaramsilks, a multitude of techniques from chikankari and zardozi to gota and resham find new birth in their collections. Iconic motifs like the paisley, lotus, and bindu or dot become the inspiration for dazzling creativity.
The special features of the show were the 15 gifted Zardozi Karigars from across the country who took to the ramp, sharing it with Shaina NC and other eminent personalities. Fevicryl, a leading fabric-glue brand, inspired and enabled these karigars to walk the ramp as a part of its initiative #CelebratingZardozi to highlight and showcase the work done by them before a wider audience. The Zardozi artistes are rarely in the limelight, normally work behind-the-scenes. But, at ‘Caring with Style’ they were given their due.
The queen of drapes, fashion designer and politician, Shaina NC said, “Fevicol’ ‘Caring with Style’ is a unique initiative that embodies the spirit of uniting against cancer and fighting the disease. It makes glamour meaningful. When I conceptualised this event several years ago the thought was that real people from different walks of life should support the cause of cancer with a purpose. This year, it is even more special as we pay a tribute to the Zardozi Karigars and share the stage with them. They are the invisible workforce behind the glitter of the fashion world and it’s an honour to be associated with them. I thank the corporate social responsibility team of Fevicol and Fevicryl for putting this together.
