Forty percent Mumbaikars skip their morning walk due to poor air quality

Mumbai- Many citizens of Mumbai exercise every morning to keep themselves fit. Many people go for exercise and morning walk with a group of acquaintances so that they can get more enthusiasm in their daily life and stay away from small and big health ailments, but due to air pollution in Mumbai, citizens who exercise in the open air in the morning have taken a break from this.  The financial capital has been gripped under severe air pollution and has witnessed one of its most polluted in November month with the AQI rising above 300 in some of the western suburbs. According to a survey conducted by a private organization, 40 percent of the citizens of Mumbai have given temporary relief to their morning walk due to various symptoms such as cold cough, burning eyes and watery eyes, shortness of breath and sore throat due to air pollution. It is seen that the air quality level has deteriorated in some cities of the state including Mumbai. Air quality levels in some cities of the state are in the moderate to poor range. Air quality levels in the suburbs rank worse than Mumbai. Road dust, ongoing construction, industrial emissions, vehicular pollution are responsible for the high levels of PM 10 in Mumbai and suburban cities. Giving more information about this,  Pulmonologist Dr. Parthiv Shah from Apex Group of Hospitals, Borivali says ,"There are more than 12 lakh private vehicles in Mumbai and nearby cities and due to the emissions from them and pollution from industrial zones, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, lung cancer, inflammation of the respiratory tract, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder and other asthmatic diseases are increasing. Air pollution can make COPD worse than covid. Due to impure and polluted air, respiratory diseases can increase threefold. Due to air pollution, the atmosphere remains contaminated till 11 am, so citizens suffering from asthma, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes and other diseases should avoid morning walk on these days. Air pollution affects people in different ways, older people, children and those with pre-existing health conditions are more sensitive to the health impacts of air pollution."
Among the 6475 cities of the world, Mumbai city is at the 124th position and it is important for Mumbaikars to take care of their health. Due to pollution, respiratory and skin related diseases are increasing. The amount of smog is higher in the morning and evening so avoid going out at such times and avoid going to crowded places and to avoid cold drinks and oily food added by Dr. Parthiv Shah from  Apex Group of Hospitals, Borivali. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Public Health Department has issued a health advisory due to the worsening air quality in the city in the last few days. The advisory suggested people to stay indoors and use N95 masks. The advisory also mentions avoiding outdoor morning and evening walks, runs, jogging and any other physical exercise. The dip in La Nina – the cooling of the ocean surface and change in wind patterns – partially caused a sudden spike in the particulate matter in the coastal city is also one of the main reasons for poor air quality in Mumbai and nearby cities.

Talking about the upcoming track, Ashutosh Kulkarni, portraying Krishna Vajpayee’s role, shares, “The episode delves into Atal's birth during Christmas festivities, highlighting his family's obstacles due to a British officer and Tomar (Mahmood Hashmi) hindering their journey to the hospital. As Atal (Vyom Thakkar) grows up, his family instils the significance of cultural values and heritage in him. His defiance against the erasure of cultural symbols at school and his discomfort with the unfair treatment of those under British rule showcase his growing awareness and dissent. Witnessing the brutal oppression of villagers by British officers further strengthens his resolve to stand against injustice. Atal's quest for understanding leads him to Bhagat Singh's story, which deeply impacts him. The impending execution of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru disturbs Atal profoundly. Despite opposition, he aims to pay homage to these martyrs. The climax builds as Atal's family confronts Tomar's intimidation tactics, displaying their unwavering support for freedom fighters despite the risks posed by the British authorities. Vespa: A One Billion Euro Brand

London - Pontedera, 04 December 2023 –  With a global relevance and perceived as a lifestyle icon, the brand Vespa has been valued at more than one billion euros (1,079 million) with a 19% growth in value, compared to the previous valuation (906 million euros in 2021).

This is the result of a new study about Vespa that Piaggio Group (PIA.MI), Europe’s largest scooter and motorcycle manufacturer and one of the world leaders in the industry, has commissioned to Interbrand. The study demonstrates Vespa’s global reach also in terms of distinctiveness, design, lifestyle and entertainment.

“The term 'iconic' is often overused, but there’s really no other way to define this brand,” says Manfredi Ricca, Interbrand’s Global Chief Strategy Officer. “Vespa is a heritage brand, and yet it is constantly evolving; it’s quintessentially Italian, and yet globally loved; it’s premium, and yet inclusive. Our valuation work doesn’t only set into numbers the success of this desired and demanded brand - it also shows how Vespa can signify freedom and joie-de-vivre well beyond the boundaries of mobility, and into new arenas. The calibre and the success of the brand’s partnerships speak for themselves.”

In determining Vespa brand’s financial value, Interbrand employed proven, proprietary brand valuation techniques, incorporating financial analysis with primary and quantitative data collected through a global market research, conducted across Vespa’s 10x key markets (Italy, France, Germany, Spain, USA, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, China, and India).

The brand Vespa is confirming its leadership in European markets and gaining more relevance in US and Asia, showing growth especially in Indonesia, where Piaggio Group has recently opened a new plant for the local market.

The report confirms that Vespa is globally perceived more than just a scooter – it globally represents both the opportunity for people to express themselves within their community and a product for leisure and entertainment. Recent global partnerships with Dior, the Disney Pixar movie Luca, Justin Bieber, Lego and the last Mickey Mouse have further strengthened the unique DNA of the brand.

According to the 10 brand strength factors analyzed in Interbrand’s study, Affinity and Distinctiveness are confirmed as key brand strengths of Vespa. This strongly demonstrates not only the deep closeness this icon has with its customers, but also its ability to create an emotional connection with them, through highly differentiated and innovative moves.

In short, Vespa confirms itself as a fashion-lifestyle brand on two wheels, rushing towards the future with a clear brand strategy, followed and loved by millions of passionate followers worldwide.

The findings of these in-depth analyses reveal that, during the complex macroeconomic period we are currently experiencing, Vespa's brand not only serves as a risk mitigator, but also functions as a genuine business accelerator. Further this is confirmed by the fact that Vespa’s brand has increased its role in driving customers’ choice, in an industry traditionally more attached to functional drivers. Another key element to consider is the great momentum Piaggio Group is experiencing: in 2022 the Group reached the milestone of 2bn euros in revenue for the first time in its history, growing 25% versus the previous year.
