As a part of this National Postal Week celebration, Philately Day was celebrated on 11th October, 2023. Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Shri. K. K Sharma, released a special cancellation: Augmented Reality in Philately along with a postcard, a testament to the innovative spirit of the Postal Department. This cancellation promises to bring a new dimension to the world of Philately. A pack of Postcards featuring stepwells of Maharashtra, a remarkable architectural marvel of our country, with a special cancellation was also released. A slogan cancellation, ‘Discover India with Philately’ was unveiled. This was available at Mumbai GPO only on 11th Oct. 2023. In keeping with the global spirit of Philately, a special postcard was released for post crossing enthusiasts, celebrating the joy of connecting with people from around the world through postcards. Shri. Amitab Singh, Postmaster General, Mails and BD, Shri. Vijay Kumar, General Manager, Finance, Shri Manoj Kumar, Director Mails and BD, Shri. Abhijeet Bansode, Director (HQ), Shri. Ajinkya Kale, Director, Mumbai Region, eminent Philatelist, Post crossers and the Staff were present on the occasion. The event concluded with a Postcrossing Meetup which gave an opportunity for all to come together, to share stories and celebrate the shared passion for postcards. The releases done are available at Mumbai Philately Bureau and at other Philately Bureaus of Maharashtra Circle shortly.
