SIA GROUP RESUMES PASSENGER SERVICES TO INDIA; ADDS CHENNAI, DELHI, AND MUMBAI TO VACCINATED TRAVEL LANE NETWORK

CELEBRATION OFFER WITH UP TO 50% OFF ON SELECTED FARES TO SINGAPORE

The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group will restart passenger services across its Indian network from 29 November 2021, marking the resumption of operations from India for the first time since March 2020.

Singapore Airlines will launch daily Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) services from Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai on 29 November 2021, subject to regulatory approvals, providing eligible customers with quarantine-free entry into Singapore. Details of Singapore’s VTL arrangements are in Annexe E.

In addition, SIA will progressively operate non-VTL services from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Kochi from 29 November 2021. Customers on these flights must meet entry requirements into Singapore, and will face prevailing health control measures including seven days of quarantine in Singapore.

Details of the SIA flight schedules can be found in Annexes A, B,and C. All times stated in this press release are local.

Scoot, SIA’s low-cost subsidiary, will operate non-VTL services from Amritsar, Hyderabad, and Tiruchirappalli. Details of the Scoot flight schedules can be found in Annexe D.

To celebrate the occasion, Singapore Airlines will offer up to 50% off on selected fares to Singapore from all SIA points across India. Round trip fares start from INR 13,100 all inclusive, and customers can avail of this sale from 23-30 November 2021 for travel before 31 December 2021. The special Celebration Offer fares will be available through various distribution channels from today, 23 November 2021.

Customers who are not Singapore citizens or permanent residents and wish to travel on the VTL services, need to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) prior to their visa application. VTP applications must be made between seven and 60 calendar days before the intended date of entry into Singapore. Customers must also ensure that they are eligible to travel under the VTL arrangements before their flight.

A detailed list of eligibility requirements for customers travelling on VTL services can be found here. Do note that short-term visitors from India may only enter Singapore via the Vaccinated Travel Lane or the Familial Ties Lane.

Customers travelling to Singapore from India on non-VTL flights will need to adhere to the Category (II) Travel and Health Control Measures laid down by the Singapore Government, which can be found here.

“This is a momentous occasion for us as we will be resuming passenger flights to India after a 20-month long hiatus. With the resumption of flights from India, including daily VTL flights from Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai, eligible SIA customers can finally enjoy seamless quarantine-free travel and reunite with their friends and family in Singapore,” said Mr. Sy Yen Chen, General Manager India, Singapore Airlines.

“We are grateful to the governments of both Singapore and India, for launching the Air Travel Bubble and the Vaccinated Travel Lane. The Celebration Offer is a gesture of thanks to our customers in India who have waited so long for Singapore Airlines to resume flights, and we look forward to welcoming our passengers back on board soon,” he added.

Taking a Vaccinated Travel Lane flight – everything you need to know

A.     Flying to Singapore on a VTL flight

·        To enter Singapore quarantine-free under the VTL scheme, travellers must fly on designated VTL flights.

·        Singapore Airlines may operate both VTL flights and non-VTL flights on the same routes, so it is important for customers to select their flights carefully.

·        Travellers must not have any travel history outside of India, Singapore and/or VTL countries or Category I countries/regions in the past 14 days to be eligible for the VTL flights.

B.      Vaccinated Travel Pass

·        Short-Term visitors and Long-Term Pass Holders will not be eligible for travel on VTL flights without a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP).

·        They must apply for a VTP online between seven and 60 days prior to their intended date of entry into Singapore.

·        Children aged 12 and below (as of calendar year) do not need to apply for a VTP.

·        Singapore citizens and permanent residents are not required to apply for a VTP.

·        For travel on 29 November 2021, VTP applications will start from 22 November 2021, 1800 hours (Singapore time).

·        For VTP application, there are no restrictions on purpose of travel and there is no requirement for a controlled itinerary or sponsor.

·        To apply for your VTP, visit Safetravel Portal (ica.gov.sg)

C.      Visa Requirements

Visitors, who require a visa to enter Singapore, must separately obtain a visa. They are advised to do so after receiving their VTP approval and before departing for Singapore. Please check visa details here: ICA | Check if You Need an Entry Visa

D.     Vaccination Requirements for VTL flights

·        Travellers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with any vaccine in the WHO Emergency Use List. Both, Covaxin and CoviShield are accepted.

·        The final dose must be completed at least 14 days prior to arrival in Singapore.

·        Travellers must hold a vaccination certificate in English issued by Singapore or any VTL country. All vaccination certificates must be digitally verifiable (i.e. contain a QR code for verification).

·        Children aged 12 and below (as of calendar year) are exempted from these vaccination requirements. However, they must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated traveller on the VTL flight.

·        Singapore Citizens and permanent residents, if vaccinated overseas, are encouraged to submit their overseas vaccination certificates in their health declaration during the SG Arrival Card submission for a smoother immigration process. Permanent residents must also ensure they hold a valid re-entry permit.

For more information, please visit Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) | Singapore Airlines

E.      Testing Requirements for VTL flights

Travellers on a VTL flight entering Singapore will be required to take two Covid-19 PCR tests:

1. A professionally administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test within two days of the flight departure. All pre-departure test result memos must state:

o   Traveller’s name

o   Either date of birth or passport number as stated in the passport

o   Date and time of test along with the name of the testing institution

o   Negative test result in English

2.      An on-arrival test at Changi Airport.

Children aged 2 years and below (as of calendar year) are exempted from these tests.

Pre-book and pay for your on-arrival Covid-19 test at Safe Travel Concierge (changiairport.com)

F.      Other Requirements for VTL flights

·        Short-term visitors must purchase travel insurance, with a minimum coverage of S$30,000 for Covid-19-related medical treatment and hospitalisation costs, prior to travel to Singapore.

·        All visitors must use the TraceTogether app in Singapore to facilitate contact tracing. After leaving Singapore, the TraceTogether app data must be kept for 21 days.

·        If any VTL requirements are not met, Singapore citizens and permanent residents must serve a seven or 10-day Stay Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival, depending on their travel history.

Download the TraceTogether App here: TraceTogether

Taking a non-Vaccinated Travel Lane flight – everything you need to know

·        Travellers who wish to enter Singapore must obtain prior approval from relevant authorities.

o   Short-term visitors are not allowed to enter Singapore unless they hold a valid approval letter of entry from the Immigrations & Checkpoints Authority.

o   Long-Term Pass and In-Principle Approval (IPA) holders must obtain permission for entry from the relevant agencies before they travel to Singapore.

o   Please refer to https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg/ for more details

·        Travellers may need to apply for a visa prior to travel. Please check visa details here: ICA | Check if You Need an Entry Visa

·        For travellers from India, Category (II) Travel Health Control Measures will apply.

·        Travellers must undergo a professionally administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test within two days of the flight departure. All pre-departure test result memos must state:

o   Traveller’s name

o   Either date of birth or passport number as stated in the passport

o   Date and time of test along with the name of the testing institution

o   Negative test result in English

·        A 7-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) (to be observed at the traveller’s declared place of accommodation) will be sent to the email address provided by the traveller. The SHN takes effect immediately on the day of its issuance.

·        Travellers with 14-day travel history to Category (II) countries may commute using their own private transport, taxis or private hire cars. The use of public transport, e.g. trains or buses, is prohibited.

·        Travellers will be scheduled to take a COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (“PCR test”) before the end of the SHN. The result of the test will be communicated via a call, email, or SMS about 24 hours from when the test was administered. Travellers with Singpass may also view their results via the HealthHub App.
