Kolkata, May 25, 2021: The corona pandemic has increased unemployment in India. More so of the daily wage earners in the unorganised sector and has compelled them to go hungry at times.

Birla High School Alumni has started an initiative to feed the needy. Everyday around 2000 people are being provided free food. Keeping in view of the cyclone "Yaas" the Alumni is also distributing Milk, biscuits, cakes and dry snacks. Free rations will also be provided to families effected by "Yaas".

Kolkata Police is also giving full support to the Alumni. Ballygunge, Alipore, Chetla, Parnashree, Maidan and Kasba Police Stations have rendered all help and support to make this initiative possible.
