With recent government announcement of colleges and universities being allowed to re-open in Maharashtra, we, at MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) are equally enthusiastic like our students and look forward to welcoming them back on campus. At the same time, we as a responsible institution, are adequately sensitive to the concern of parents towards their wards and have made conscious efforts to create a safe and conducive space for our students to pursue their academic goals in this new normal.
MIT-WPU is going to follow the M-A-S-K strategy to ensure safety of all students and faculty on campus.
- M – Mask compulsory
- A – Always wash/sanitize your hands
- S – Safe environment using disinfectants
- K – Keep social distancing
Abiding with the M-A-S-K strategy, students, teachers, faculty members and all staff at MIT-WPU will have to follow physical distancing of at least 6 feet as far as feasible. The use of face covers and masks have been made mandatory while on campus. Everyone on campus will have access to hand sanitizers at strategic locations (classrooms, cafeteria, labs) and will be mandated to frequently sanitize their hands. Additionally, respiratory etiquettes are also to be strictly followed. This involves strict practice of covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing and sneezing with a tissue, handkerchief or flexed elbow and disposing of used tissues properly. Self-monitoring of health by all and reporting any illness at the earliest will also have to be continued. Additionally, proper sanitization at all learning sites will be ensured. Cleaning and regular disinfection of frequently touched surfaces such as, door knobs, elevator buttons, hand rails, chairs, benches, washroom fixtures, etc. has been made mandatory in all classrooms, laboratories, parking areas and other common areas before the beginning of classes and at the end of the day. Teaching materials, computers, laptops and printers shall also be regularly disinfected. Sitting places in classes, laboratories, computer labs, libraries etc. will be clearly marked, keeping in view the norms of physical distancing.
Having said that, the endeavour to win over the challenging situation is a joint effort by the institution and the student community alike. And we have complete faith in our promising students for their wholehearted support. Our students are our strength as they are here for carving out their bright future and have a great potential to generate positive social change in adverse situations like these.”
