India’s biggest Biking Festival gets bigger and better

        The festival offered a fun filled extravaganza with Track racing and India’s first Stunt Championship, along with chance to get trained with professional racers like Emmanuel Jebaraj - National Champion and the art of stunting from India’s no. 1 Ghost Ryderz

        Open for all Pulsar customers and youth, the 6 race and 1 stunt participants have made their way to the finale at the Kari Motor Way on 18th Feb 2018

 Bajaj Auto, known for its sports bike legacy hosted the third season of the highly acclaimed Pulsar Festival of Speed. With another edition, the Pulsar fans witnessed double the fun and enthusiasm as per the last two editions. The festival was hosted at  Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The event started at 1 pm gave Pulsar customers a chance to indulge in professional lap racing on a track setup for ultimate biking experience. Not just this, this time the festival offered India’s first Stunt Championship along with chance to get trained with professional racers like Emmanuel Jebaraj & Kartik Purushothaman- National Champions and the art of stunting from India’s no. 1 stunt team Ghost Ryderz.  Touted as India’s biggest biking festival, the festival will be further  hosted in Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore to provide a fun filled extravaganza with track racing competition and breath taking stunt shows. The festival has already concluded its successful chapters in Delhi and Hyderabad.

Apart from races, the festival offered a fun filled day with Pulsar experience zone, burn out zones and exclusive display of the Black Pack Pulsars lineup, Stunt shows much more. While the races were open for RS200, NS200/AS200 and Pulsar 220, 6 Pulsar customers were chosen for the final face off to be held at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. Apart from Races, 10 Amateur stunters also participated in final stunt face offs at Leisure valley out of which 1 was selected for the finale. The festival will also travel to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai and Chennai with 36 race finalists (6 from each city) and 6 stunt winners to compete for the grand finale after undergoing full professional training from the experts on the Kari Motor Speedway, 

Coimbatore and Chennai Resp on 17-18th Feb 2018. The training and finale will be sponsored by Bajaj Pulsar. The winner of the grand finale will be awarded with the first Pulsar Cup of the country along with prize money of Rs 50,000 for both stunt & race category.

Hamara Tiranga Celebrating the 76th Quit India Movement, 2018

Silver Screen Pictures ltd. Launch their Feature production “Hamara tiranga”, on the 19th of January, 2018 starring veteran actors Rahul Dev, Milind Soman, Ashmit Patel and Vijay Raaz. The film is directed by late Sanjeev Balath and produced by George Mathew. A Period Drama film, “Hamara Tiranga” unfolds the true story of a small village’s Struggle for independence against the British Raj. The story is set in the backdrop of the year 1942, the same time around when Quit India Movement was launched by the then, All-India Congress Committee by Mahatma Gandhi. The launch date of the film also marks the silver Jubilee of the Quit India Movement. The story revolves around a remote Indian village’s war against the British Empire during the year 1940's and ultimate victory of their freedom from British slavery in a small village called Kanakpur, which defeats the British Empire by bringing down their flag and Hoisting Indian Flag, thus attaining independence in the year
1942.

Mr. George Mathew, Producer says, “It has been shot in Kutch, Gujarat where famous Lagaan
Film was shot but with a different background. In Lagaan freedom is achieved through the game
of Cricket but in Hamara Tiranga, Villagers attain freedom though the British game of Flag
Hoisting.”

The movie also stars actresses like Harry Key, Thomas Munro, Madhu Sharma and Sheetal
Shah in lead roles. The music of the film boasts of prominent names from the Music Industry
like Lalit Pandit, Umesh Sandilya (Executive Producer) and singers like Sonu Nigam,
Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan. Initially titled “The Flag”. The movie has been renamed to
“Hamara Tiranga”.

Actor Ashmit Patel says, “Shooting for Hamara Tiranga has been a unique experience because
it’s my first period film which I based in the 1940s and the character I play is very earthy and
Straight from the heart kind of a guy who is the Strong man of the village who doesn’t think but
goes by what he feels is in his heat, I had a fantastic time shooting in Bhuj in the Rann of Kutch
where our set was put up. Playing the character of deva gave me an opportunity to go back in
the ear and get into the skin of Deva who epitomizes the aggressive side of people who are
fighting for their freedom. It’s very special to me.”

Actress Sheetal Shah, “Hamara Tiranga” is very close to my heart. My character RADHA is fiery,
has a mind of her own and I lived it and loved it each day if my 40 days shoot. We shot in Kutch,
which made it more special as I m a Gujarati. The film being placed in 1942, it allowed me to live

the pre-independence era. Our costumes were beautiful with a touch of that era. The set was
beautiful and earthy. I am sad to have lost our director Sajeev Balath who was the creator of
this story and film. He envisioned this beautiful story of a small village full of innocent villagers
and their revolt against the British atrocities. Of the 9 films I have done, this one truly remains
one my favourite experiences”.

Asia’s biggest fitness exhibition, BodyPower India Expo 2018 begins with a muscular bang at NESCO Goregaon 

Body Power India Expo, the biggest gathering of bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts opened its gates on a Friday for all. The expo saw participation from some of the most esteemed health & fitness brands, along with globally renowned athletes.
Day 1 of the Expo started with an inauguration ceremony by Mr. Nick Orton, CEO, BodyPower and renowned athletes Kai Greene, Sangram Chougule, Shweta Rathore, Bollywood actor Sahil Khan, Flex Wheeler, Tom Coleman, Zac Aynsley and Josh Maley. While they spoke about health and fitness, Mr. Nick Orton highlighted the growing awareness of nutrition in India and how BodyPower has got a bigger and better with many new latest techniques.
The day began with National Championship Qualifying Rounds of MMA and Kick Boxing which captivated the attendees with highly energetic cheers. Each zone was supervised by globally renowned athletes.

Launch of Satyamev Jayate Water Cup, 2018

Satyamev Jayate Water Cup, 2018

After receiving an overwhelming response in 2016 and 2017 from the people of Maharashtra, Paani Foundation today announced the launch of the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup, 2018. Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra FadnavisAamir Khan & Kiran Rao, Founder, Paani Foundation, & Mr. Satyajit Bhatkal, CEO, Paani Foundation, were present on this occasion.

Paani Foundation is an initiative set up by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao.  It has been working since the year 2016 to create a people’s movement for drought-free Maharashtra.

This year the competition tenure for Satyamev Jayate Water Cup is from 8th April to 22nd May 2018. The top three villages will get a cash prize of Rs. 75 lakhs, Rs. 50 lakhs and Rs. 40 lakhs respectively. In addition, the top village from each taluka will get a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs. The total prize money which the villages stand to win in the competition is nearly Rs. Ten crores.

Satyamev Jayate Water Cup is a competition between different villages to see who can do the best work for watershed management and water conservation in the period of the competition. As part of the competition, Paani Foundation will train the villagers in the science of watershed development. These villagers will then participate in the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup. The 45-day long competition involves ‘Shramdan,’ (voluntary labour) in building important structures and thus, water storage capacities. Every revenue village in the selected talukas is eligible to participate. Participation is based on self-selection and the application form needs to be sent by the Gram Panchayat.

A total of 1,321 villages from 30 talukas took part in the second edition of Satyamev Jayate Water Cup competition and created water storage potential of 8,361 crore litres of water! A small Adivasi Village, Kakaddara from Arvi taluka of Wardha won the Water Cup, 2017.

This year the competition has been extended to 75 talukas in 24 districts of Maharashtra.  

Every village in the selected talukas is eligible to participate and has been given Aamir Khan's signature invitation for this purpose. A grand photo exhibition that explains the journey and purpose of the Water Cup was organized in close conjunction with the government of Maharashtra in all 75 talukas and has been attended by lakhs of villagers and students.

The entry form is in two parts. Over 7,000 villages have submitted Entry Form Part 1 so far. The second part of the form requires the village to hold a gram sabha and select 5 participants for the four day training conducted by Paani Foundation. The last date for submitting the completed entry form Part 2 is 31st January 2018. Paani Foundation extends a warm invitation to all the villages in the selected talukas to complete the entry process and begin their journey to water and prosperity

Folic Acid Awareness Week 2018

  Spina Bifida Foundation, a foundation aimed at prevention of Birth defects and Meyer Vitabiotics, a leading pharmaceutical company, jointly announces a one of its kind initiative “GO FOLIC” campaign India as part of National Folic Acid Week from January 8th to January 14th.

This campaign is aimed to create awareness on prevention of Spina Bifida, congenital birth defect. GO FOLIC - One of its kind initiatives by Meyer Vitabiotics for prevention of Spina Bifida. They have been spreading awareness about importance of Folic Acid since 2015.

Started on 27th August 2015 across India GO FOLIC campaign has liaison with State Governments, the Union Health Ministry and WHO India to reach to the masses by undertaking various activities like Awareness Campaign, Events, Health Camps and Doctor Participation Activities. This will be an on-going campaign. GO FOLIC aims to spread the vital message about taking Folic Acid as well as Vitamin B12 before pregnancy to prevent birth defects.

This initiative is launched as part of Corporate Social Responsibility, a joint initiative by Meyer Vitabiotics in collaboration with Spina Bifida Foundation to make a positive difference in society. Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon is the brand Ambassador for GO FOLIC campaign.

Congenital birth defects mainly (NTDs) Neural tube defects form a major share in India, are assuming greater importance as a leading cause of Neonatal and Infant Mortality in India. With this joint initiative, Spina Bifida foundation chief Dr. Santosh Karmarkar and Meyer Vitabiotics Vice President Mr. Rohit Shelatkar takes a step to create awareness and help prevention of Spina Bifida and its complications.

Folate is a vital Vitamin required majorly during pregnancy, for the development of maternal and fetal metabolic needs. Folic acid and Vitamin B12 deficiency in pregnant women can lead to grave consequences like FGR (Fetal Growth Retardation). Regular dose of Folic acid and Vit, B12 is required for every to be and would be mother.

Mr. Karmarkar, Founder of Spina Bifida Foundation said Every year about 25 to 40 thousand children are born with mild to severe form of birth defects. Every year there is increase in the infant mortality rate. The children who are born with such casualty suffer from mild to severe form of Spina bifida. Prevention of NTDs is an immediate Public Health priority for India. GO FOLIC campaign will address this issue. 70% of NTDs are due to a lack of Folates and therefore ensuring an adequate daily intake of Folic Acid and B12 vitamins in the diets of mothers-to-be, prior to conception and during pregnancy can prevent most cases of NTDs”

Prevention of NTDs and other birth defects is on the top of the stated WHO goals for South East Asia. NTDs, which are congenital malformations of the Spinal Cord & Spine, cause varying degrees of childhood paralysis (more severe than Polio) and also affect the development of the lower limbs, brain, urinary bladder and Bowel. India has one of the highest incidences of NTDs in the world – up to 4-5 /1000 live births! This would amount to as many as 25000 - 40000 children born with this defect in India each year.

World's Largest T-Shirt out of 100% recycled plastic waste

 Plastindia Foundation makes World’s “Largest T-Shirt” out of 100% recycled plastic waste from 200,000 PET bottles to enter Guinness World Records 

                                             An initiative to promote recycling plastics waste

 The giant T-Shirt of size 97.5 metres height x 70.08 width made out of recycled plastic waste of 200,000 bottles catapulted Plastindia Foundation into the Guinness World Records. The apex body of plastics industry in India, Plastindia Foundation took up this initiative to create awareness among the masses on the need to manage plastics waste so that it is recycled more efficiently. Swapnil Dangirikar, the official adjudicator of Guinness World Records confirmed that this T-Shirt is bigger than the current record holder T-Shirt which is 93.2metres height x 62.73 metres width. Among those witnessed this record creation effort was Afroz Shah, the renowned environment lover and also the person behind world’s biggest beach cleaning exercise at Versova beach in Mumbai. The fabric from this T-Shirt will be later used to create 10,000 T-Shirts and distributed free among the children from economically weaker sections.



K K Seksaria, President, Plastindia Foundation mentioned that “The thought behind this initiative is to catch citizens’ attention on facts such as the dire need for everyone among us to be more responsible towards the environment, plastics waste can be managed effectively with understanding segregation at source and making citizens more conscious towards littering and mixing waste. If waste is segregated and disposed correctly it will help plastics waste to be recycled more effectively and we can create many things from recycled plastics waste. To change people’s behavior towards waste management and segregation is not going to be easy, but steps like these could go a long way in building empathy and belief that there are ways to bring about environmental change if every citizen understands and appreciates his civic responsibility”.


Atul Kanuga, Chairman, Environment & Plastics Image Committee spoke about various initiatives on enhancing awareness around plastics recycling. He said, “The T shirt project of this scale is to draw attention to the fact that one should look at waste from a different angle. Six plastic bottles of one litre can clothe one child and there is value in waste. We must segregate waste and reuse the good part . Upscaling from waste is the new mantra and the plastic industry will play its part.”

Sharing the industry’s point of view, Vimal Kedia, Managing Director, Manjushree Technopack Limited, mentioned, “Plastics has indeed made the world a better place. However, the irresponsible use of plastics, if continued unabated, has the potential to derail the many benefits of plastics. On behalf of the industry, I would like to congratulate and thank the Plastindia Foundation, for this tremendous effort to raise awareness around plastics recycling. All stake holders, including consumers, must contribute to the effort for more responsible use of plastics”. Manjushree Technopack is the largest PET bottle manufacturers in India.

Also sharing stage with the dignitaries was. Rohit Parmar, Managing Director, Sushila Parmar International, one the leading polymer importers and suppliers of raw materials in India. Parmar said “World’s largest T-shirt made from 100% recycled plastic waste’ makes a statement in itself. It tells the world that if plastic is used, segregated, disposed and then further, re-cycled correctly, then it can do more good to the world than any harm. We at Parmar believe Plastics is a blessing and like every blessing, we must know how to use it carefully and appropriately.

In future, technology would play an important role in environmental safety. Rajeev Chitalia, Chairman, Exhibition Committee, Plastindia Foundation commented, “The key observation while doing over 71-odd roadshows in India and abroad to promote Plastindia 2018 was the concern among manufacturers to produce more environment friendly and easily recyclable plastics. New technologies and processes will help us win the battle of making the world a better place to live and environment safer for our next generations.”

The attempt to enter Guinness World Records by making largest T-Shirt is bound to create a new wave of awareness among end-users of plastics.

Veer Marathas Logo launch by Aditya Thackeray



Yuva Sena cheif Aditya Thackeray launched the logo of Veer Maratha Team and unveiled the theme track with a feeling of euphoric team spirit at Taj Vivanta in Mumbai.


On this occasion Sarwan , Amit Dhankar , Praveen Rana , Ritu Phogat , and Ritu Malik were presentin the Indian team of Team Veer Maratha.


Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray acclaimed the tradition of Shahuji Maharaj " . Shahuji not ony extended support and encouragement to Maharashtrian wrestlers but wrestlers from all over India.
Maharashtra has been a leader in the field of wrestling in India. India's 1st Olympic medalist Khashaba Jadhav was from Maharashtra and the 1st Gold medalist of Asian games was also from Maharashtra .

The Veer Marathas are signified by a tiger and a lion, which is a combined symbol of victory and power. The Veer Maratha theme song uses local Maharashtrian musical instruments weaving the entire state as the plethora of talent that it truly is.
