AYJNISHD(D) Mumbai Celebrated its 40 Years of Achievements

The 40th Annual Day celebrations of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) AYJNISHD(D), was inaugurated at 5.00 pm on 9th August, by Chief Guest, Adv. Ashish Shelar, Hon’ble Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The grant inaugural function with various colourful cultural activities provided inclusion and accessibility to all participants including, Diyvanjan, staff and students of AYJNISHD(D). Program also provided ambience to demonstrate the four decades of achievements, showcase the evolution and progress across different sectors in consonance with 75 years of achievements, the theme of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

 

Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) AYJNISHD(D), Bandra West, Mumbai, for the first time joined hands with all its employees, students and persons with hearing impairment and their families in various parts of  India celebrated its 40th birthday on 9th August 2023. AYJNISHD(D) is one of the premier apex national institutes of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DPwD), Under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India. 

   

Speaking during the function Chief Guest, Adv. Ashish Shelar, Hon’ble Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, appreciated the services, efforts of the teachers, staff and students in their efforts to alleviate the problems of the persons with speech and hearing disabilities in Mumbai and also in the country. He congratulated the continuous service provided by the institute of Govt. of India, to the members of the community for the last 40 years. He also awarded all the employees who have completed 10, 20 years of service and felicitated high achievers among the students of AYJNISHD(D). 

In the morning session of the annual day’s celebration that began with a  technical session at 10.00am in the conference hall of the institute at Bandra West, Dr. Hans, EC Member, Cochlear Implant surgeon spoke and deliberated on the need for  ‘Cochlear Implants: adopting the changing trends in technique & technology’. This session aimed to provide the recent scientific trends in the application of technology in the area of cochlear implants for the hearing impaired children. Annual Day celebrations remained colourful with the cultural events throughout the day.
