The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has sent legal notices to business firms for illegally using the brand name and registered trademark logo of ‘Khadi India’ to sell PPE kits in the market. Mr SS Dube, Mumbai, the advocate for KVIC sent the legal notices to Delhi-based firms - “M/s Nachia Corporations “, “Ms Pest Cure Incorporation” and “M/s Ved Prakash Mithal & Sons”.  KVIC has asked each firm to pay Rs 50 crore as damages for fraudulently using its name and registered trademark logo.  In addition to the damages claimed, the KVIC has asked the firms to stop selling, marketing or distributing any such product bearing “Khadi India” logo and surrender all such products to KVIC immediately. Prototype designed, developed and produced in collaboration with IIT Delhi, AIIMS and Loyal Textile Mills (Chennai) To Facilitate Economical PPE Kits for Healthcare Workers Mumbai, April 20, 2020 : As India braces to fight the battle against coronavirus pandemic, a dedicated team of professors and researchers from India’s top Design & Technology Institutes - The World University of Design, IIT Delhi and AIIMS are addressing the shortage of PPEs by designing and developing indigenous PPE Kits for Healthcare Workers who are on the frontline fighting against the corona pandemic. Amid the shortage of PPE for doctors and the frontline staff, a team at WUD is working closely with IIT Delhi, AIIMS and the Chennai based Loyal Textile Mills to design and produce standard PPE for our healthcare workers.
